A&E First Robotics Special!

I wasn't sure if anyone has been keeping up with the A&E special but it is suppose to air on August 4th, 2001 from 2:00-3:00pm. I believe that 69 teams participated at the Virginia Langley Regional where A&E filmed. Our team is truly excited and we hope that you will watch as First hits the big screen once again.

We're as excited as everybody, but there's a minor problem: No A&E in Brazil (Yes, team #383 :D )...
So, it will be really great if someone could record it in digital form (bytes, not atoms ;) ) and publish it in an FTP or something like that... Anyone willing to do that? :)

I think a few of us are gonna do our best :) maybe we can rip it to a few cd's and mail them around... no promises, i personally dont have a video in or cd burner... but i know people who do.

If someone makes a digital copy I can provide web space for it on my ftp. I will be leaving on vacation that day so if you are going to make a digital copy please e-mail me at amadkow@pacbell.net and i can give you a password to the ftp so you can upload it.

Just a small correction, shouldn't that be, Eastern Daylight Time? We are still in Daylight Savings Time, just being observant:) ;)

yes. i beleave so. it's hard for us in indiana also because we don't practice standard time and daylight savings time. in the winter we are in the eastern time zone and in the summer we are in the central time zone. it's kinda confusing sometimes.

mike o'leary 28-07-2001 17:24

why dont you just use eastern daylight savings time during the summer? itd be the same as what yorue doing now just less confusing.

that would make since and thats prolly why we don't do it. anyone that lives in Indiana knows what i am talking about. i think the origional reason for it was for the farmers and we're far from that now. on the longest day of the year it's about 10pm and there is still sunlight. it's some crazy sh.... stuff

you also have to adjust to the new times for TV shows.

You should be glad that the 24 hour clock isn't used so much over here.

mike o'leary 29-07-2001 16:24

yeah...especially since if you were trying to set a clock or somethign back an hour youd have to hit the button 2x as many times...im way too lazy for that.

Jessica L. 30-07-2001 11:16

Heck yeah! I'm glad someone thought to tell about that thing on A&E. The people from there put a mic on our team leader (Ryan Matheson) for a day. We're all excited about the broadcast!!
