After a long and pretty sucessful practice day of working on the bot, i got to play in the snow and have a snowball fight. We sure got some stares from the Denver kids, but hey, we're from texas, we never get to do this :)

Re: Denver anyone

Just got back from awards. was going to post who got what but FIRST (the website anways) got it up real fast.

http://www2.usfirst.org/2005comp/Events/CO/awards.html

I'll be posting a really long post about my thoughts on the regional soon. Every regional has it's own individual issues, challenges and rewards, and this one has it's own flavor. It's been a lot of work. I've only had 4 hours of sleep in the last two days. But it's been worth it.

Good luck to all the teams in the finals tomarow!

The standings and match results are not coming up for the Colorado Regional. Does anyone know why this might be?

So who won and what did the allainces look like. Also what were the final standings at the end of the competion. Also who was your favorite team other than your team.

233 has the rare perspective on this argument being that they won both the regional championship and the regional Chairman's award.
So which one excites you guys more?
And congratulations on winning both.

Thanks Koko. I think this argument depends on the individual. On the team, I have always worked on the robot. I also helped out with fundraising and volunteering. But I was not involved with organizing a presentation and such for the Chairman's Award (that is my sister's job this year). So personally, I would like to have the team win an engineering or design award (or win an event), so everybody who worked on the robot, can receive some recognition. But since this is our team's first time winning Chairmans, I think the team (as a whole) liked winning Chairman's for the time being. :)

Congrats to all the teams at the Colorado Regional. It was a lot of fun to watch from the DU stands. If your regional grows next year itll probably need a place other than a hockey stadium(a tad bit small, but definately a great view and a lot of fun.). I hope it stays in the Ritchie Center though, the VIP room is great (isnt it fun to be Dave Lavery's son?) :yikes:
FIRST, the only place where the VIPs wear safety goggles. ;)

That #1 alliance was amazing. No offense to the rest of the teams, but with 233 and 118 on the same alliance, nobody really stood a chance.

It was an amazing alliance, but can't leave out 935, they were awesome. But we (118) had a speed controller blow out during the semi's so we lost control of turret, which slowed down our capping speed a bit, but the alliance still prevailed in the end. I've gotta say the last finals match was extremely excited though. I loved it. :D
