What's your dream car?
1 Attachment(s)
We all know what kind of car do you drive
But what do you really want to drive? What is your dream car? If you could have any car in the world what would it be? Me personally I would love to drive this 1970 Hemi Orange Roadrunner |
Re: What's your dream car?
Ok I know this might be a little cliche, but I would kill to have a Ferrari Enzo. I think those cars were the most beautiful cars on the planet. And the performance is not half bad.

Re: What's your dream car?
My favorites are all Fords. I like the Eleanor Mustangs. I also like Rangers with a V8 swapped in. And for new cars, I like the Ford GT.

Re: What's your dream car?
Gotta get a VW bus and make it awesome. Then I'd go on roadtrips to FIRST events.

Re: What's your dream car?
The one this that I have loved all my life in terms of vehicles is a Lamborghini Countach, so I guess that is my dream car.
As for recent (to me) dream cars, I guess a Superbird would do just nicely. I saw that car the first time in a Spice Girls video, and it looks sweet.. Look at that whale tail!! ![]() |
Re: What's your dream car?
Give me an Accord Hybrid.
More power than the V-6 Accord, the fuel economy of my brother's Civic, and the last-a-lifetime-if-you-die-when-you-should reliability of a Honda? It just can't be beat. (Failing that, however, an RV always seemed interesting. It'd sure let me go to a lot more things.) |

The Shelby link is currently slightly wrong since it's going to a '69 instead of a '70. I say "slightly" because there actually weren't any 1970 Shelbys produced. The '70s are really '69s that were leftovers on dealer lots and were returned to Carroll Shelby to be "updated" for 1970 so they wouldn't depreciate in value being tagged as leftovers*. They had to be modified to comply with 1970 safety and emission standards. Externally the biggest change was the addition of a chin spoiler. Shelby also was the only one to ever reVIN a vehicle. To make the '69s become '70s legally on the vehicle titles Shelby had to reassign the VIN numbers for the cars. This had to be done in the presence and blessing of the FBI so it would be legal since normally altering a VIN number of any vehicle is a felony. I have a Shelby book and it goes into all the detail about what they had to do. I would like a 1970 Shelby GT350 convertible in Grabber Blue or Grabber Green. The GT350 is the small block while the GT500 is the big block. I would prefer the small block since it handles better** and is much easier to work on. *Due to many factors in the 1969 model year Carroll Shelby decided he didn't want to be partnered with Ford anymore. He made an announcement that 1969 would be the last model year for the Shelby Mustangs although at that time he didn't consider the possibility of leftovers. **Remember, the first generation Mustang's front end is weak and the extra weight doesn't help it any. They sell upgrade kits and reinforcement braces but if the car is a REAL Shelby you don't want to do that............it's value would be significantly reduced by modifying it from "factory". The only thing keeping the shock towers apart in a Mustang/Cougar is the engine block. The Camaro/Firebird had a completely different set-up in the front with A frames to support the weight and didn't have these issues. The Chrysler vehicles also were stonger in the front. Here's a 1970 in Grabber Blue......... |
Re: What's your dream car?
I could go on and on about cars that I want and will have some day  .
However, if I had to name one car right now, it would be a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T in Hemi Orange with a 440 six pack. |

I'm definatley going to have to go with either a '66 Shelby Cobra 427. With a blue paint job and white racing stipes. Either that or one of the WWII Willy's, those jeeps rock. :D

*An official speed test usually requires certain conditions and depending on the type of test, often requires the car to be driven in both directions on the track. This is to account for slopes and wind (and possibly many other varables). |
Re: What's your dream car?
Another '90 Miata, and the time and money to make it my dream club racer. I love the old Miatas. No A/C, no power windows, no power steering, no power anything. Just the lightest, cheapest, best handling little sports car you could get for less then 15 grand. Sure, there are faster cars out there, but none with the class and spunk of a Miata. It's the best selling sports car in history for a reason.
Besides, girls just love flip-up headlights. -Andy A. |

Re: What's your dream car?
A light, striped down version of the Veyron could, on paper, be faster then an F1. However, the Veyron will be far too heavy in production form to really have 'super car' performance. It will also cost significantly more then an F1 ever could.
Thats not to say it's a slouch- it still has 1000 ponies, give or take, but it's just to heavy. But then, it was never meant to be faster then an F1. Just much much more expensive, any maybe just a little safer. People who can buy a Veyron don't really care how fast it is, just how fast it looks/sounds/costs. -Andy A. |

Re: What's your dream car?
Right now, the fastest production car as certified by the guiness book of world record is the Koenigsegg CCR. It beat the F1 by like 1 mph or something like that. For those of you who haven't heard of Konigsegg, it's a relativly new supercar company from the land of Volvos. That's right, it comes from Sweden
Other than that, I'll love to have a BMW M5. |

Re: What's your dream car?
I love the classics, so for me, I would want either a 1955 Ford T-bird in Sea Green with a white convertible top and white interior (along with the big dice on the rear-view mirror) or a 1964 Chevy Nova II in Electric Blue, also with white convertible top and interior.
The latter I almost go my hands on twice. The first time, there was one being sold a few blocks from my house. It was waiting there for years to get sold and I figured that when I finally got my license, I would go and buy it. But lo and behold, the year I got my license, someone up and got it before I got to it. *sniffle* and the second time, a friend offered me his Nova with brand new equipment under the hood and a brand new paint job for only 6 grand...but it was in Oklahoma and I couldn't fly out to get it. one of these days, I'll get my hands on one.... |
