Thanks to everyone for a great competition so far, especially Dr. Joe for the spreadsheet. We kept score in the spreadsheet as well as the FIRST System, the results to this point match. The FIRST scoring system was flawless after an update loaded early this morning. The field worked very well until the matches 51&52 (last two of the day of course).

Again any comments, questions or concerns, please let me know. Either here, or before we start competition in the morning.

Cheers,
Ben

Great big thanks to team 397 from team 123's driver for choosing team 33, and then us, team 123, for the elimination rounds. Both of them did a great job, and couldnt have gotten to where we got without them.

Congrats to 245, 217 and 301 for winning the Detroit Regional, guys did a great job.

Was 2 ford teams verses 1 , i think.

We snapped a picture of our first place seat.

You may notice our Average QP... If the competion was entirely based on that we would have been in 14th place.

For all who are unaware, Ben worked the event as field manager from Wednesday morning, when we constructed the field, till late Saturday afternoon to take the field down. Yet he still took the time to post these results. We all owe Ben and his field crew two thumbs up for a job well done!

Re: Detroit Regional 2005

Just want to second what John already said, Detroit was awesome! Great job to teams 1213, 494 and 184, you were a tough alliance. Look forward to seeing 494 at nationals. Finalist teams 397, 33, and 123, you were awesome too, those last few matches were really close! Congrats to team 33 for winning the robot design award, you guys deserved it.

Also wanted to mention how impressed I am with how much all the teams are improving as we progress through the competitions. It seems like everyone is finding ways to make their design better or figuring out how to use what they have to much greater effect. Some of the competition at Detroit was truly fierce, so hats off to everyone's efforts, you all deserve a pat on the back.

Finally, to our alliance partners teams 245 and 301, we couldn't have done it without you, thanks for all your hard work and dedication. 245, thanks for picking us, you guys have an incredible drive team -- your quick reactions and stacking speed were just amazing. Oh, and the chairs on the field during that time out -- GOLDEN, that's all I can say. 301, YOU OWN THE BACK ROW. :-D Seriously, you guys held on to that thing like no other, I'm glad we had the chance to partner up with you.

Once again, great job to everyone who was at Detroit, especially the volunteers/refs/judges. Everyone worked hard and the event was a huge success. I had a blast. Good luck at the rest of your competitions, and can't wait to see more Triple Play at nationals!

Lost coat!

Did anyone find a black winter coat - "RFT" brand? It turned up missing on Saturday 3/19 at the end of the Detroit Regional. There was a set of Craftsman wrenches and a LiveStrong wrist band in the pocket. It was in the Team 1213 pit area.

I would greatly appreciate the return - we will still have some cold weather to deal with!

Im sorry to hear this. One of our team mebers lost his coat on friday. Those bleachers were brutal!

Re: Detroit Regional 2005

Awesome competition! Big congrats to the winning alliance!

Underneath the bleachers looked like it rained FIRST stuff! Yeouch!
I was a volunteer at this regional, and I noticed that there were many things we had in a lost and found in the pit area... Including some coats... I think the Wayne State lost and found now has this stuff, thats all I know...

Also off topic, I lost my camera, it was a Digital Fujifilm xD picture card camera with a resolution of about 2.5 megapixels, and was also in a small black bag with a strap, if anybody can find this, I will be very grateful :) .

Seems like this is the regional to lose some good stuff, eh?

Just a note:
The rankings page appears to be correct.
The "matches" sheet is incorrect when it comes the the QF's, SF's and Finals. The alliances are incorrect.

Really though I screwed up, both the sheets posted above are incorrect. All teams at Detroit had 12 matches, why the scoring system shows 11 for many I do not know, but the results listed above are incorrect.

I apologize for my fact checking error, check out the first post in this thread for rankings.

Should I be concerned?

How's it going in Chicago?
