Re: pic: Not something you see everyday
I have a feeling that red Eplorer has a CMU on it and is seeking the tetra...maybe it's just me. :p

Re: pic: Not something you see everyday
OMG thats funny! The vision tetra's are fleeing the fields, maybe they are jealous and feeling unworthy because they were not often used in the comptetion, I mean all we did was push them around into places we didn't need them, lol.

Re: pic: Not something you see everyday
They didn't stop at the Krispy Kreme like you did?

Re: pic: Not something you see everyday
That truck was actually members of the Archergeeks. We stopped at an area with an Arby's, McDonalds, Burger King, and Krispy Kreme. The Archergeeks were already there, and shortly afterwards, team roboto (447), team 554, and New Apple Corps (93) all showed up.
It was pretty cool driving up and seeing a truck full of tetras. :] |

Re: pic: Not something you see everyday
That's too funny. I should randomly just build a tetra and when I get my car, just attach it to the back with our handy dandy faithful tool of FIRSTers everywhere -- DUCT TAPE! =D

Come on everybody, its the cool thing to do :) |
Re: pic: Not something you see everyday
I made a little tetra the other day (12" sides) from 1/2" PVC. Maybe I should hang it from my bumper. :D But it might look too, well, you know...

Re: pic: Not something you see everyday
Nice Looking Tetra! Maybe your SUV can try to find my truck. Thanks for taking a picture of my truck. The red explorer was trying to find that vision tetra and it followed me all the way back to Fort Wayne :ahh: Everyone's vehicle should have a tetra on it. And no sorry we didn't buy donuts we went and got Arbys but still good food. :yikes:

Re: pic: Not something you see everyday
What you have to do is drive around and see what type of expressions you see on other people's faces. :yikes:
That reminds me of something from a few years ago. Our team had to move out of donated space in a local factory. One of the first things we wanted to get out of there was the robot but we didn't have a truck. So we used one of my cars, a 1987 Chevrolet Caprice Classic wagon. Well the wagon had plenty of room inside except for interior height. So after realizing the robot won't fit inside we decided to put it on the roof. We laid out a scrap of rug on the roof to protect the paint, stood the robot on the roof, and then tied it to the roof with a few bungee cords and rope pieces. I only had to drive about two miles to the other destination (with another mentor following me) but I got the most weird looks in my whole life during that two mile trip! :D Unfortunately I don't have any pics but if I did I would post them. So if you were in Watertown 4 years ago and saw a gold and blonde Caprice wagon with a robot on the roof it was me. ;) |
Re: pic: Not something you see everyday
I would have loved to see a robot on top of a caprice classic. Great Car! I love those things. No Sorry X-Lorm no Ford Truck for Atlanta, it stays at home this time :( Oh well. I got some weird looks too with my truck loaded. Everyone had the huh look on their faces. It was quite entertaining. But hey I was the only Tetra loading truck at competition that could do 0-60 :)

Re: pic: Not something you see everyday
Driving behind Stephen back to the school from picking up the bots and the cart and all the tools wasnt very difficult, although somewhat nerve-wracking; knowing at any minute, tetras would be flying and I had a lot of money's worth of robots and tools in the back of the truck :ahh: .
