I'de just like to know what types of multitool multiplier or lethermen knives other FIRSTers own.

Some friends on my team got me a Leatherman Juice for my birthday one year, to replace my 2 year old Gerber that had started to rust - it's awesome (and has Katie #93 engraved on it!)

I have 3 Swiss Army knives.

My father bought me one almost 10 years ago. Then I got one as a gift from my company, it has the company name printed on one side of it (to date I have never used it and it's still in the original box). Then the 3rd one I recieved from the high school theater arts group for donating my time (and tools) to build their sets one year. This one I keep on my keychain so I always have it with me.

I carry my Kershaw Random Leek with me. 3" S30V blade, Tungsten DLC coated in black and the sweet Onion speed safe opening mechanism.

It's yummy.

I carry one tool with me everywhere I go

its the only one I need - works for everything

but seriously...

I made a tool holder out of heavy cotten fabric that I could carry in my pocket - it folded like a big wallet

In there I had:
cresent wrench, small swiss army knife, small bit driver with 8 bits, small screwdrivers, a AA maglight, a couple big pins, needle and thread, about 4 feet of nylon twine, a couple band-aids, some avdil, tums, benedrill, about 2 feet of tape, a 6" metal scale, a safety pin, a couple Q-tips

its amazing the things you can carry around - it was about twice the size of a wallet (when closed)

My Leatherman Wave has served me well over almost 2 years. I keep getting told by the studnets on the team "$@#$@#$@#$@# that thing i so usefull!" its Always on my belt unless im flying or otherwise cant have it on me!

I Really love Leatherman multi-tools!

Yeah, I voted "Letherman". But mine is spelled "Leatherman". :]

Take it to a place that does engraving, or do it yourself. It is really hard to do it neatly so it looks good though.

I carry a Leatherman Wave.

It's a very handy tool, and the external liner-locking blades and file are nice. The only downside is the poor blade steel (440A, I believe). It doesn't hold an edge very well. The new Leatherman Charge, however, uses 154CM stainless steel for their blades. If you want the best of the best, consider one of those. It comes at a price, of course, but all good things do.

I picked up one of the 'new' waves, to replace my 4 year old Wave that had simply gone missing.

I love the new ones. Not only does it keep all 4 blades accessible with out opening the tool, but all the internal tools lock open and release with a thumb tab. Even better, the screw drivers use replaceable and reversible bits. All you have to do to switch between flathead or Phillips is pull the bit out, flip it around and put it back in. You can also buy various other bits (torx head etc.). Even the handles are rounded so using the pliers feels just as nice as a real pair. It's a real improvement over what I had thought was the perfect multitool. Most useful half pound of steel you can buy. My only criticism is over the inclusion of what I consider a useless flathead screw driver in addition to the reversible driver. I would have rather had a good Awl or maybe just a general 'pokey thing'/probe. I think every multi tool should have a dip switch setter.

I also carry a pretty run of the mill folding knife. It's nothing special, but it has some sentimental value and just feels right in my hand. I use that for menial stuff like cutting down boxes or just playing with.

I remember I was in the pits at Manchester, and of course I forgot my leathermen and knife. I felt so useless, like I spent more time asking for tools then I did working.
