NO MORE SNOW!!!
Man just when u think spring kicks in. Tuesday it was so nice up here in Shelton. Our track team was outside practicing on the track. The sun was shinning, birds were singing...and then Wednesday happened. Snow snow and more snow. Thats just what we need. So much for going to robotics to make that human player training video this weekend. WHY CAN'T IT STOP????? argh

Re: NO MORE SNOW!!!
:-D You seem to live in Connecticut. I thought that was normal out there?
If you look back at groundhog day, we were supposed to have a good 6 more weeks of snowy weather. So, enjoy it while you can! :-D It snowed on my spring break, and that's not even while I was in Michigan! |

Re: NO MORE SNOW!!!
Being only 30 minutes north of you, it's coming down real fast by me.
Earlier when I left work I was heading south on RT8 from Torrington and as soon as I got near Thomaston I could see the highway was white about a half mile from me but there was nothing coming down where I was. As soon as I reached that spot where the highway turned white I had to turn the wipers on, it was very wierd and as if I drove into a wall of snow. Then when I stopped to gas up my Camry I had an inch of snow on my windshield...........all in the 5 minutes it took to put in the gas and restart the engine when the wipers came back on! :ahh: |
Re: NO MORE SNOW!!!
Are you kidding me?
We got 9 inches of snow in May one year. Winter is always a threat in Rochester. Even in July. :p |
Re: NO MORE SNOW!!!
Well, I think that we'll have no school tomorrow at least :)

Re: NO MORE SNOW!!!
Well, at least it isn't raining. I'm in the LA area, and we are only 2.33" away from our wettest year... ever. It's supposed to rain tomorrow, probably 0.5-1", which puts us ever closer to that record.

Re: NO MORE SNOW!!!
whats so bad about snow? i mean i know that it makes roads all nasty but when ur not near any roads its actually kinda beautiful. all the whiteness everywhere. i enjoy snow. especially snowball fights and snowforts and all that good stuff. :)
ICE on the other hand, thats a different story. :( p.s. the other bad thing about snow is if it closes school during build season so we cant work on our robots. thats also not cool :( |

Re: NO MORE SNOW!!!
Its not just the snow ive been hating on lately. its the fact that just as im finished shoveling my nice LONG hilly driveway the plow man goes by to dump it back on. its like hes secretly plotting against me. and the snow comes when i have huge plans to do things with my friends, and not only does it seem to snow! OH NO! but it knocks out my power lines....like saying gee claire, we'll make your day worse. and to make the snowyness make me even happier...it only snows here when its a weekend, or when i have days off. completely killing all thoughts of a snow day. so in general im done with this whole snow thing. its soooooo not even winter nemore.....go FURTHER NORTH! STOP BEING MEAN SNOW!

Re: NO MORE SNOW!!!
Snow? What is snow?
It's been some five years since I've seen snow. If you're tired of it, just move to the desert. No rain, either. <sarcasm>Except for this week, its rained a whole 3 days!</sarcasm> |
Re: NO MORE SNOW!!!
We're about 3 hours drive north of LA, in what they call the Central Coast, up by Santa Barbara. It is extremely beautiful here all the time. We live right on the beach. The coldest we get, ever, is about 35 and the hottest we ever get is about 90. We are also about an hour drive away from some nice ski slopes, so the snow isn't far away.
I don't mean to rub it all in your faces... oh wait, ya I do. :D :D :D ;) And just to answer your questions, yes we are going to be in Atlanta, so you can beat me up there. I'll be the driver with the LA Dodgers hat and the drumsticks with 1388. Tomorrow I think I'll go to the beach  Just messin with you guys, I've always wanted to live on the East Coast. |
Re: NO MORE SNOW!!!
This reminds me of 95's first attempt at an off season event.
May 18th. It snowed. A lot. We still had a pretty good cookout though. -Andy A. |
Re: NO MORE SNOW!!!
...snow...you're so lucky I moved away and now I miss it terribly...

Re: NO MORE SNOW!!!
Don't worry about it today. It's cold, and it's supposed to rain later today. Plus the water isn't that great. The water temperature is in the mid 50s right now (it hovers around there all year).

Re: NO MORE SNOW!!!
::obligatory Family Guy quote::
"Well, you know what they say about New England: if you can't take the weather, get the heck outta here." "I don't think they say that." Anyhow, the report from Rhode Island: it snowed quite heavily last night (in fact, it was so heavy and clumping that I had to go outside last night to clean off the satelite). But it rained early this morning, and most of what's fallen is now slushy/gone. What I find cool though (no pun intended) is the fact that there hasn't been a day in which there wasn't snow on the ground for about a month here (the snow has never completely melted). Of course, this is coming from someone who enjoys cold/snowy weather. |
Re: NO MORE SNOW!!!
No I was just being a jerk, it's actually pretty crappy here. We have what's called an open campus. That means that all of the rooms go right to the outside instead of an indoor hallway. Also our school is arranged around the blacktop, football field and softball fields, so that about 4 times a day, I have to walk (not exaderating(I can't spell)) about 1/4 of a mile between classes. That can become pretty miserable when it's raining. On top of that, our school was built in a swamp so that it floods when it rains. There is not a dry person in our school when it rains. You guys are lucky to have those big indoor schools.

Re: NO MORE SNOW!!!
Lucky for us over the past few days its been warmer so most of the snow melted away. Time to bring out the shorts.
