2005 Scoring System
Did FIRST make a big mistake selecting Hatch for the scoring system?

Re: 2005 Scoring System
FIRST contracted out the creation of a new program, which integrates match control, match generation, scoring, ranking, etc...everything is working at this point except for the ranking. i have gotten a chance to see the system up close and it is actully very nice...but just like all new systems there are bugs that need to be worked out

Re: 2005 Scoring System
There's not too much we can do about it at this point in the season.
Just like so many other things, FIRST will learn from this and in the future it will not be an issue. Even those of us from the glass is half empty club can see that the problems (like this one) from the past have pretty much happened once and not again. |
Re: 2005 Scoring System
I'll have to give props to the folks at Hatch--things have been improving over the season (from Peachtree to UCF to Boilermaker) in the graphics department. Having the team numbers on the final scores does wonders as a spectator.
Really, the only two gripes I have as a spectator is the real-time scoring's size on the screen, and the rankings graphics are a little bulky (the columns use a bit much screen real estate that could be used for things like team names, etc.). However, since I lack a refined solution for either (My lack of knowledge with the system means I can't suggest anything beyond shrinking the RTS field graphic and shrink up the column labels on the rankings), I won't complain (much). |
Re: 2005 Scoring System
So far, there are 14 votes. I wonder how many of them had any experience with the scoring system other than from the stands.
