Open Thoughts

Hey, not to be a competitor for chief delphi or anything...
Open Thoughts
A new forum i set up solely for political/social/religious discussions and debates. The extremely kind community of Chief Delphi forums are invited. I figured I'd develop this so controversies can be discussed where people will look for them, not controversies popping up where no one would expect them to. (example, the cloning thread in chit-chat. that isn't normal chit-chat.)

that's pretty cool, This way people can debate back and forth instead of waiting for someone to come on and post somethiing hours later.

it seems that freewebz is having some trouble keep their servers up and working.
luckily the message board is hosted by someone else.

thats the main message board. ill let ya know if freewebz gets back up. if not within a week, ill just move everything to a different host.

are you eventually going to try to get a board other than ezboards? or is that the board that's there to stay?

Keith Chester 13-04-2002 16:06

Well...
I see no problems with ezboards currently. It's easy for me to maintain and its free.
Eventually, if this thing takes off from the ground meaning at least 500 posters, I'l set up a better message board. maybe even vbulletin.
but for now open thopughts is to stay on ezboards. y do you dislike it, some problem wiht ti i am yet to see?

try using phpbb. they're much nicer and you have more options. it can be found here: http://www.phpbb.com/. I use phpbb for our teams forums. i like it a LOT better than the ezboards. check out our forums here: http://forums.cyberblue234.com

i don't like ezboards, because whenever i seem to use them, i get a huge influx of junk mail, and they just have so many "free" offers, just annoys me. oh well, if it works, it works.

Keith Chester 13-04-2002 19:59

the thing with phbbb is that i dont know if my web server willl support them.

Ian W. 13-04-2002 20:14

there's someway to determine if php is on your server or not. somethnig with makea small file called phpinfo(), and putting it up. i'm not sure what has to go in that file though. :p

well, as long as you guys keep posting, that should breathe a little life into the forums.
