Traction Question

I searched, but I did not find this anywhere. Does anyone know the name of, or more importantly, where to get some of the traction stuff seen on this wheel?

Re: Traction Question

It looks like a 6 (or 8 in) wheel chair wheel with the provides wheel removed, TREADS attached to it, and a sprocket bolted to it. Wouldn't be hard to replicate if you have tread material.

Re: Traction Question

Looks like rough top gum rubber from McMaster Carr. The Wedge top is also very popular among teams. You can get similar materials from a number of other suppliers too. FN sheppard, and Brecoflex

Edit
It's not brecoflex, but here's the links.
/ Edit

It also might be from Brecoflex, specifically Supergrip backing. You can call them
and order directly from them.

Be forwarned that this stuff is not cheap! :yikes:

Good luck!

It is gum rubber rough top conveyor belting from McMaster-Carr. You could have gotten some from us at Detroit. We have been using it for the last 4 years. I have some samples if you want to come by our place and get them.

rough top page 1091 of mcmaster's catalog.

That is the natural rubber material. They have it in several different material compositions the blue nitrile seems to wear extremely well from my experience with it.

That is a rough top incline belt (tread). it is a spare that is glued and zip tied. you can find it at www.mcmaster.com and type in 1091 on the search. (1091 is the page its on not a team)
