team 1466 landed at 2nd with 7-2-0 with highest ranking points at regional
the competition was fierce.. ranking points are very important this year seeing as how there were several 7-2 teams- i think the 7th and 8th teams were 6-3

279, 66, and 461 :yikes:
Just like last year, but we will win Einstein
Alright, just dreaming...

But I think that the teams this year will be 279, 66, 67, 71, 111, 135, 537, 1024, and 1108 will be great out of the ones that I have seen pics of or seen in action.
I also congratulate Team Hammond on another excellent Robot design  .

As Kyle said, team 365, MOE went 13-2-2 at Pittsburgh. The first loss was the second match of finals, in which our partner got DQ'd (It was a good call, just unfortunate, as we had won the match by a margin of 30 or so points if I recall correctly). The second loss was a hard fought match in which team 1708 was able to hit us just right to make us immobile as our polycarbonate sideshields were pierced.

At Philadelphia we went 9-2-0 in the qualifying, with one loss in the semifinals. Our first match of the quarterfinals was a score of 104, and the first match of the semis was 110!

We've had a relatively great year, and I'm excited for nationals. (I also happen to be a driver).

Alright, guys....I hate to say this, but back on topic.

This thread is concerning the top Win/Loss records in general. The only time teams should be mentioned is in reference to a W-L-T record at a specific regional, preferably of a team that was part of an alliance that made it into the finals.

There are many other "favored teams" threads where your opinion concerning those teams will be welcomed. Thanks :)

look for the teams that won two regionals to be a top robot. and i think the robots that can take two at a time and cap they will be the best robots to look out for.

i was hoping to see somebody put my team down by now but thats okay. just look for the pink team to be a top team, we are 32-3 now, won two regionals with the help of other teams , ranked #1 seed at both regionals.

Re: The top 8 teams will be....(2005)

The two regional winning teams will definitely be in contention.
I think 118 will definitely have a chance at one of the top seeds because they are so fast and can cap really fast and steal tetras off other bots.

i think that performance should also do something with it. i am not saying that we are the best or what ever, far from it, but we went 3-7 at Midwest and went to the finals. it doesn't only deal with wins losses or ties. in my opinion. those could be wins because of alliance partners. that robot could do nothing but play defence..and get beasted every time...but the alliance wins so they get the win. it should be on performance also.

who are the top 8 at nats?

hey everyone,
i honestly thinkt that with 3 teams per side this year, luck is becoming more of an issue. last year if you were a really good robot, you still had a chance of bringing your team to victory. In this years game if it is just you against 3 others, then chances are much slimmer. We went 8-1-0 at peachtree but did not do quite as well at palmetto (to specify my point we had bad team members in 3 cases that got our team 30 point penalties, bringing us down for the loss). Hopefully the top seeded 1-3 alliances will recognize this and pick on robot capability and maybe not as much on actual performance (though this does also play a role). Also, as of this point in time i don't think anyone has seen enough of the teams to say who is going to be in the top 8, but until then...Good luck at National! See you there!
Ben

Re: The top 8 teams will be....(2005)

yea... i totally agree.. it really depends on your allies. . you can be AWSOME. . .. but if both your allies suck/dead.. . it makes it extremely hard to beat 3 poor/decent robots..

for example, team 1596.. we were doing Awsome (2nd seed), 6-1.. . but since both our allies (one dead, one coulnt stack).. when we were pinned in the corner.. we got like 2 tetras stacked.. ....and lost the match.. even though the other alliance had not so good robots..

and i woulda hated to have one of those penalty making robots on an aliance (during competition matches) as well *multiple ramming, ..etc. . really sucked in the finals how we got the human loader penalty.. . :(...1305 played that strat well..

I attended two regionals (Peachtree and Lone star.) I mentored four teams in the Peachtree and one team in Lone star. Of all the robots I watched team 118 was by far the best. This robot is an excellent example of the perfect design for this game. I will go out on a limb and say, I think team 118 will one of the top eight teams.

Re: The top 8 teams will be....(2005)

you know what i think that this thread is not a good thread. not every one on here has seen every single robot so we don't know if the robots that they have seen are the best...yes they may be the best at that regional but there could be another team that is better then them. until you have seen all of the robots you cannot make an opinion on which robots are the best.
