CRASHrobotics (Team 999)

Introducing the CRASH robotics website. Site has a PHP/MySQL backend with full admin center. Validates in HTML and CSS but I was wondering does it "validate" so to speak with everyone else in the ChiefDelphi community? Feel free to comment and give suggestions.

Also, comment in the guestbook or add your link to the link section.

Thanks!

Thanks guys! As for the link.. I did this using a .htaccess file like you said and put the following in it..
Code:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^index.php - [S=1]
RewriteRule ^([^/]+)[/]?$ index.php?a=$1

Modify it/play around with it if it doesnt work at first. If you need any help with anything else feel free to ask!

It is a nice site, but I would have to argue against your color choices. Grey on grayish red or on darker grey is hard to read, and makes the site seem less interesting.

You could still leave the same colors if you wanted to, but more saturated versions might make for more visual impact.

The only time that I have found it to be harder to read is when you are running on a higher resolution. To change the font sizes, just hold ctrl and scroll down on the mouse. But I will still look into it, thanks for the suggestion!

I am using a high resolution, and it is a lot easier to read with larger text.

You might want to keep in mind however, that I am probably not the only one who will view your site with a high resolution. Also, the change of font sizes doesn't work in IE when the size is specified by a style sheet, so you might want to consider that most people still use IE and try a larger font size by default.

The only color choice I would still argue against is the mouseover color in the lighter grey section of the navigation. It looks like there's the same mouseover color for the whole page, but it might work better to change what color it changes to in the menu.

I have changed the hover color for the menu. I had also noticed that one late night working on the website, just forgot to do it while working on other things. What would you say is the hardest to read? The content on the page? I'm thinking about making an alternate style sheet that you can change using either javascript or just going through PHP so I don't have any cross-browser compatibility issues.
