Huzzah! I made someone's list. And here I am without a speech prepared.... *pulls paper out of his pocket* Hmm.... nope. Just random notes from work.
But I'll be either hanging around the 57 pits or on the field yelling at a couple of drivers that can't hear me anyways. And forgetting the controls on the field. What with the commute, I don't think I'll get a chance to make it to the stands to see if 624 actually caps in auto.... But I guess I'll be showing up at the web-hug. Especially if I can find that raffle ticket I printed out....

I heard that Christa Hastie-Waydo was at Nationals last year. Christa was from Survivor 7 so you can only imagine! I actually emailed her about it this year and asked her if she was going, but she never emailed me back. I guess she thinks that I'm a stalker or something.

It's odd to be on so many lists as it is--but to get listed among such amazing mentors is an honor. (And mildly scary, too--as someone wise once said, I don't know if I'm ready to be an inspiration!) It also means I'm probably on someone's photoshop list--almost half of the list (Karthik, Copioli, oh, a n d D a v e, t o o) have already been targets, maybe more.

Andy, Amanda, Dr. Joe--perhaps we should form a group to cover each others' backs in Atlanta, just in case?

I want pictures with the big three... and I already have two of them... I got a picture with Woody Flowers last year at Nationals... A picture with Dave Lavery this year in Annapolis... And I missed my opportunity to get one with Dean Kamen at the BAE Regional in NH... I'm gonna try sooooooo hard to get one with him at Nationals... This is my senior year so I need to get it...

Billfred! Did you have to link so many? Are you trying to get me in trouble again? That's it, I definitely have to meet you just so I can give you a swat! Okay, okay, so I'm not really all that concerned about getting into trouble, I really just like swatting people...

Of course I would like to meet everyone... but besides Billfred, there are specific people I would like to meet for specific reasons. For example:

Brandon: to thank in person for the work he does on CD
Andy Baker: I've never met a pig farmer before...
Ken Loyd: Because he once promised me I could lead a Gila Monster dance! (don't think I ever forget offers such as these!)
Amanda Morrison: Somehow I think we would be a good influence on each other, what with the pure evilness and such!
Koko Ed: Because he's so encouraging about my photoshopping efforts.
Gary Dillard: Another one who deserves a swat, especially since that one photo caption contest entry... (what grudge holding?)
And I don't know if they are going to be there or not, but strong female FIRSTERs who are no longer students but are still involved, such as Katie Reynolds, Jessica Boucher, Erin Rapacki, etc.
And I keep seeing names like Rich Wong, JVN, DJ Fluck, Ken Wittlief, David Kelly, Eugenia Gabrielov, Aignam, Elgin Clock, etc. etc. etc. and I don't know who is going to actually be there, but they are all people I would like to meet and if I wanted to, I could add more and more, and more, but my lunch time is only so long...

Darnit, I knew I shouldn't have qualified it to only apply to caption contests. But, just for reference, the Billfred Industries Corporate Policy Manual states "No employee may actively attempt to get someone else in trouble with a co-worker unless their actions are one-sided, and they richly deserve it." I think this post by Dave means the one-sided criteria isn't met. :D

Okay, Im not offering prizes to anyone that finds me. Seeing as Im only on 3 peoples lists (thank god!), Im willing to admit 85% will be spent in and around the 116 pit (dont you love being on Pit Crew? :D ).
The only people I really wanna meet are koko-ed and/or levin571 to deposit the "prize" for the FF winner. Im sure Ill end up running into a bunch of other people and talking to them too, so it'll be fun.

I know one group everyone should want to meet are our new friends from Israel and Brazil who came a long long way (and probably at an incredible expense) and it would make it worthwhile if many FIRSTers came up and say hi and a congratulations for making the journey literally and figuratively.

1089 is really good friends with 1156 (one of the Brazillian teams), and they're great guys. So say hi! They'll probably trade shirts and ask you to play soccer with them :)

I want to meet people at the Championships.
 

I'm flattered to have made it onto a couple of lists here. Being the procrastinator that I am, I probably won't have my list ready much before we leave for Atlanta, so I doubt I will be posting it here. (I have about 80 CD people on it so far.)

I would welcome meeting any and all from CD. As an inducement, I intend to have a very limited edition Grammar Curmudgeon pin available at Atlanta. Look me up if you would like one.

hmm,i think i'll try to meet as many people as i can. Hopefully our robot will hold up so i can have the time to do that. I don't think i'll be camping out in the pit this time...too many people too meet.

I finally got around to creating my list of people in Microsoft Works, as well as an agenda of events to attend. Looks like the conferences will keep my schedule very busy, and I may not go to all of the ones I have listed. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, but I plan to use the resources FIRST gives me to better myself for the future.
