Easy there killers...I don't want to have to break-up any cat fights ;)

More seriously...Can a guy be friendly to a girl, without the girl just assuming hes going after her?

A. Snodgrass 18-04-2002 22:39

depends on what you mean by friendly and depends on how well the girl knows the guy. I have friends who I know very well who sometimes mock flirt with each other and nobody assumes they are going after each other. I think it depends.

Well at least in my case, I'm one of those unassuming girls, unless you're being a major flirt I will never pick up on the fact yoou want to be more the friends. So if you talk to me, friends i always what I'm thinkikgn of.... guess thats what happens when you hang out with a robotics team... and play boys soccer.... I'd even dare say, after seeing certain guys at their worst I wouldn't want them to be looking for anything but a friendship, but thats just cause all my close friends are mainly male.....

So to answer your question more directly, yeh, I'll think you want to be friends, but most girls I venture to say woudl think you're looking for more if you just randomly started talkign to a girl....

Yeah they can, if you mean by being friendly just talking and joking. As long as there isn't an brushing up against each other or trying to spend all your free time with her, usually, at least for my friends and me, girl wouldn't take it as flirting

Come talk to me!!!! i'll be your friend!!! Seriously, i am the sort of girl who never gets a clue that a guy is after her until he actually asks for her number. I would love it if more guys just wanted to be friends (i realize that is hard for some of you, but that's how you get my attention :D)

I guess the lines between friendship and flirting are somewhat hazy...I'd rather have friends, though, they last longer.:)

65 posts!

If this keeps up, Brandon will need to make a subforum:D

this thread is interesting though, as personalities begin to emerge from advice... some more than others, i think ;)

I can't wait to go to florida next year! I can feel the sunshine already:cool: I'm really bummed out that i cant go this year:( but it guess that's how it goes...sniff

Personally I have a lot of friends that are girls and I wouldn't really want to be more than that with them...

I think some 'couples' work better as close friends rather than a true couple...But then on the other hand lots make really good couples.

I'm all for guy/girl non-dating relationships.

after reading this thread i have concluded that best way to pick up girls is by creating a topic in a forum asking girls what the best way to pick them up is...

i dont know about anybody else but ive seen more girls posting here than any other topic so i think its working

DanL 20-04-2002 15:25

lol, you know what? you just might be on to something...

Katie Reynolds 20-04-2002 15:41

Haha that's great - about the whole 'can you be friendly to a girl without her thinking you're trying to hook up with her' deal: the answer is yes!! Though I do know a few girls, who, if a guy starts talking to them they will automatically assume he wants her ... but those are exceptions to the rule ;) I'm presonally all for talking to anyone and everyone. Lol, if you're bored - come say hi! I'll be in 93's pit area at nationals :)
