Don't count on that...we can only go to KSC next year I think.

Hmmm canadian regional, how many NYC teams were there. We like it in our city, the filth, the smoke, the tourist that ca't cross streets and stare at building b/ c they are big. But we well see u in FL

Harrison 20-04-2002 23:06

KSC?...Kenndy Space Centre?

And you're already so close to Epcot (at least compared to me)...So all u guys have to do is win the KSC one and ur all set...

Or, we could get Delphi to give both our teams money - they've got enough....lol...That would be funny, teams sponsoring each other...

and there were a few NY teams at the CR...There were 19 american teams here...Not sure exactly where all of them were from.

Melissa Nute 20-04-2002 23:08

We'll try to win,

Team sponsering other teams? Isn't that the same as mentoring?

Harrison 20-04-2002 23:11

I guess it kinda does....But Mentoring usally doesn't involve ca$h grants...Sposorship does :D

BTW...Methinks it would be easier to chat in like AOL/ICQ or something...lol

devilzangel1014 20-04-2002 23:13

Haahahahaha delphi giving anyone money, ho abut he teams that can afford it pay for allannces (under tables of course) word has it that some of that happened at the NYC regional

Harrison 20-04-2002 23:14

Alright...

Time to get to a more 'instant' messenging system...lol

Ben Mitchell 21-04-2002 13:02

Could this be perhaps the longest thread ever?

Harrison 21-04-2002 13:06

I would say it is definately up there...At least in this conference.

Ben Mitchell 21-04-2002 13:13

So what have we learned so far....

1. Hold doors open:p

2. Don't be fake or macho or a wimp (easier for some than others)

3. Be casual, not overzealous or passionate

4. Poetry and Sonnets can wait for the 2nd date

5. FIRST is an awesome way to meet people, and we all need to hang out in Florida next year (hopefully)

6. Contact is a good indicator of interest versus flirting

(just a quick summary)

(I'll try and post a picture of myself soon, I just need to find a good one)

we leave for nats in 2 days! yay! so, how about a little last minute advice, ladies :) so far at the team parties I've been, there hasn't been that much dancing, mainly teams just stayed in their group. What does a guy need to do to dance or just hang out with you?

Stephen

P.S lol, this thread is so big it needs its own summary! :)

Pamela 21-04-2002 13:31

just walk up to a girl and ask her to dance! at least in my case I would prolly say yes no matter what! or just be like my team and join random groups and start dancing, its fun that way!

Melissa Nute 21-04-2002 16:20

Um, walk up to the girl, then ask her to dance. That usually works.

srawls 21-04-2002 17:21

ahh, so that's the secret, huh? it's got less arcane rituals than I thought, but if it works ... :)

Stephen
