After talking to a student from Team 135.....they'll be ready to play...with a good robot too. Better watch out for them.

Yeah you guys Team Fusion is ready for some competition, we've got a great division this year, I'm looking forward to some great matches. I was looking and I believe we have 22-25 (not 100% sure) teams that either won regionals or were finalists. Some of those were repeat winners as well...so Newton is going to be great this year, I cant wait. Feel free to give any team information, espec. about your robot to me lol. See ya'll in Atlanta.
Oh yeah I hope we have Sir Charles again too this year, he was a great mc last year.

I wonder if he could find a way to work in 'They're going for the hook up baby!' again this year.

That really never got old. At all.

I understand what you are saying about Sir Charles. He has MC'd the Peachtree Regional the past few years and he is the best. I seem to remember that he did say "he's on the hook" last month but I can't remember what the circumstance was with the new tetra game this year. I have his business card in front of me and it says "Image Is Everything" on the front. Well Sir Charles is pure excitement!

I told him when he arrived at the Gwinnett arena last month that having him announce the matches makes it so exciting even if your alliance is not winning. He is a local Master DJ and does weddings, parties and other special events. Simply put he is the best. I too hope he is on Newton. I am going to email him and show him some of the comments here. I think Newton has a good chance of surprising everyone. Not just because we're in it :)

Sir charles was amazing last year hopefully he will be there again this year. He really got the fans into it. I was on his field last year as a student and i just enjoyed listening to him. He brought a new kind of spirit to the announcing that was very enjoyable

When I showed video from the Championship last year I was forced to mute the audio because people were asking so many questions about the announcer & not about the game. "why does he keep saying that?", "who is this guy speaking?", "why does he keep saying two minute warning?", you get the idea. I don't think I could handle another weekend of his witty banter.

Archimedes who? I think newton is going to be the division to watch.

I cant wait to see 67,639,1402.

I think that with the teams we have, the divisional champion alliance is going to be the force to be reckoned with on Einstein.

In all fairness, it was his first time emceeing a FIRST competition, if memory serves. I remember hearing that he was a last minute replacement, so there's no guarantee that he'll be back this year. There's also no guarantee that he'll be at Newton if he IS at the Championship.

Going from reaction online, though, you seem to be in a minority. The majority seemed to like him.

I've got no idea how we'll do in Newton - this hasn't been a good year for 818, despite the fact that our robot is working as designed for the first time in our history - but we'll be out there, and we're still going to try to give everyone some competition. ;)

Hey everyone. Our team, 1595, is on Newton. This is our first year playing, rookie team, but we did win the Pacific Northwest regional. :D :yikes: I think that our robot will be able to contribute in makeing the Newton division take the whole thing!!! See you all there!!!
