Here is tk's idea he sen tme in a PM:

I am to have the times start tomorrow, correct? And what hours are reasonable, I was thinking 5-10 PM each day (if they miss their time, they can jump back in whenever, but teams already picked are picked). With those hours and picks every 10 minutes, we would be done with the 3rd round on Sunday, which I think is reasonable, and I believe that the extra time throughout the day will give everyone else a time to catch up if they missed their pick. And if you want, would could run the draft longer on Saturday to be done that day. We could start at noon and still be done before 10 PM.

Basically, with these hours, the first two rounds would each take two days and the 3rd round would either be all day Saturday or Saturday and Sunday. I will work up a schedule and edit it as needed with your input. Also...a 3rd round draft order would be nice, so I can get the whole schedule done at the same time.
-Tyler

I am not with the knocking back non-conformants to the next round. I'd rather just pick for them.

It isn't really the next round, just when they get a shot to get on, they come and pick a team that hasn't yet been picked. It has worked out alright in other FF threads this season, but ultimately it is up to the powers that be to make the desicion. I do however prefer this method but thats just my two cents.

I also think that letting a person pick their own team whenever would be the way to go. Since we have a time schedule this year, people know when they are up and if they miss it I think that they will be able to get back to it. People will know if they will not be around for their time slot and can send a list to the appropriate person(s). And then someone doesn't have to constantly watch the thread to put a team in when someone doesn't make their time slot. It would make it fair to everyone and would be easier for those running the draft.

I sent my picks to Ed.

BTW, I beleive the times for the drafts should be EDT, not EST.

EDT stands for Eastern Daylight Time. Its the same as eastern standard time except now were on daylight savings time.

Not exactly. Right now it is 9:36 EDT and 8:36 EST. It's also 7:36 CST and 8:36 CDT.

EST is Eastern Standard time and is UTC (the time not the FIRST sponsor) - 5 hours, used when we are on standard time. EDT is Eastern Daylight time and is UTC - 4 hours, used when we are on Daylight Saving Time.

It wouldn't make much of a difference except that there are some crazy Indianans who do not observe Daylight Saving Time, so the whole year they are on CST. However, when interfacing with the rest of the world, in the summer they have to use EDT, since no one gives times in CST then.

Seeing as how there is a large contingent of Indianans on CD, we should try to keep them happy and use the correct times ;)

if you are a "no show" then i belive it should be you get to pick when you get back. Or if you chose you can send koko or myself a list and we will take the highest ranked team that is left for you if you dont want to chose when you get back.

Re: Championship Fantasy FIRST 2005 Draft round one

i see a major problem, if already discussed sorry.

Lets say Jimmy missed his time at 3:30 and go on at 4:04. while it is Billy's turn at 4:05, Billy is waiting for it to say 4:05 to post that he wants team #0000. While Jimmy posts that he wants team #0000 at 4:04. the problem i see if the person who is doing the right thing (Billy) because he is there on time is getting the shaft due to a person who is late for their time. am i missing something or is this going to happen?

gee that situation seems a little..cough cough, familar. Well theres not much we can really do about this, its just one of those events that just happen. But that makes 3 of us that agree.

But, lets get back on topic here, its draft day.
