Re: Atlanta Weather Forecast

According to weather.com this is what the max humidity will be like, (tends to get sticky on the east coast when the weather warms up)

Arrival Day-Day: 55%
-Night: 64%
Practise Day-Day: 57%
-Night: 63%
Qualifying Day -Day: 61%
-Night: 71%
Judgement Day - Day: 61%
-Night: 63%
Departure Day -Day: 51%
-Night: 52%

Well i'm sitting in new jersey right now on one of the nicest days in a long time and the relative humidity is 33% and its like perfect. So it may be a bit sticky while we are there, particularly during Qualifying.

And from the people that actually know weather.

National Weather Service

Knowing weather though, this could all change before next weekend anyways.

Ya know... It's supposed to be just as warm here in NYC when we leave it as when we get down to Atlanta...

Us snowbirds go down South to get warm weather, dangit...

I much prefer snow to rain.

It gets you a lot less wet.

Snow?

How about freezing rain and ice storms, like we had two years ago at Western Michigan? And we had to walk both ways to the venue from our hotel! Uphill! Barefoot over broken glass!

The last two may be a bit exaggerated, but we WERE there when half of the city lost power. Fortunately for us, our hotel was in the half that didn't.

In any case, a little bit of rain never hurt anyone. And as long as the robots don't get wet, we're all going to be just fine.

That link didn't work... I think it was meant to go here.

The short version as of Sunday Morning:

Thursday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 77.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low near 53.

Friday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high around 77.

Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56.

Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high around 74.

(I always go to the National Weather Service directly for weather... I find it more informative and less cluttered with advertising and gardening/golfing/other non-weather related stuff than The Weather Channel's site. It also provides more raw data and real meteorological discussion related to possible trends and forecast scenarios.)

Of course when I'm going to Atlanta where it'll be warm it's also going to be warm in NY...as soon as I get back it'll probably be like 40 again.

Weather Underground (this link for Atlanta) is BY FAR my favorite weather information source. Great radar and tons of data.

Sure am glad my Segway is waterproof !! ;)

Re: Atlanta Weather Forecast

Here's yet another link to the Atlanta weather forecast. These are by AccuWeather, which has 15-day forecasts. I've been watching these forecasts for the past week, and the numbers have remained pretty constant.

Thursday:
http://wwwa.accuweather.com/adcbin/p...uweather&day=5
Friday:
http://wwwa.accuweather.com/adcbin/p...uweather&day=6
Saturday:
http://wwwa.accuweather.com/adcbin/p...uweather&day=7

Basically said, here are the percentages of the chance of precipitation. Note that how low these numbers are.
Thursday:
15% Probability
Thursday Night:
10% Probability
Friday:
31% Probability
Friday Night:
19% Probability
Saturday:
20% Probability
Saturday Night:
8% Probability

The highest chance of precipitation is only 31% on Friday night. Usually you aren't guarenteed to have rain until the precentages are in the 70-80% range or higher. Also, if you look at the anticipated precipitation on AccuWeather, they're predicting 0 inches of rain on Thursday, 0.19 inches of rain on Friday, and 0 inches of rain on Saturday. 0.19 inches of rain is hardly anything.

Thank you Mr. Ellis! Did you see the Dual Hemi Jeep Hurricane?
Yeah, the weather here is perfect right now. Like it is ridiculous. There hasn't been a cloud in th sky to be seen today or yesterday.

But then again, this is Georgia, the place where we had a ice storm for 2 or 3 days and then on the 4th day we were all back to the mid 70's. Don't worry about it.

The prediction here right now from the local weather stations for thursday is just cloudy. I'm not sure for the other days.

I'd also like to say for the whole isolated T storms weve been getting almost no rain out of them if any its for a few min during the day.... its really nothing to worry about at this point...

Re: Atlanta Weather Forecast

Wow, its going to be bad if it rains...because 616 will be walking to and from their hotel everyday, which is the Wyndam by the way. Its going to be interesting if we have to walk in the rain. Are other teams walking too?

Re: Atlanta Weather Forecast

For those of you who aren't used to the strange weather patterns we have here in the south (like I wasn't when I moved here), the extended forecast is always a 30% chance of rain between mid-March and June, so that if we get a batch of pop-up afternoon thunder showers, the weather guessers can point to the forecast and deflect the blame. It's very common here this time of year to have rain at my office, and when I get home 4 miles away to not have had any, and vice versa. So don't put too much much concern into the current forecasts... I'm sure it will be a beautiful week! See everyone here soon.
