CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #41
Well, it's the week of the Championship, so it's time for one more blast before everyone jets (or drives or buses) down to the ATL.
Here's the scores: Code:
T. Hoffman 118http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/pi...uiet=Verbos e Now, since a vast amount of the group (myself included) will be in Atlanta for the Championship, I'm going to institute a few minor tweaks: 1) The deadline is midnight Friday. That way I can judge and pester the winner on Saturday and such. (That, and I'm going to be dead on Sunday anyway.) 2) I'll accept entries at the competition as well as here. The trick is finding me. I'll be working real-time scorekeeping, which means I'm on the field all day, but I'll still probably walk the pits. Look for the guy with scruffy hair, some sort of FIRST shirt (either volunteer, 1293, 180, or DSATKB), and the obligatory safety glasses. 3) As I am a card-carrying member of the Broke College Students of America, I highly doubt that there will be any surprise awards originating from Colatown. (Then again, anything is possible.) So get to it! |

[Family Guy Quote]
Lois: Peter, it's time for an intervention. You've been wearing that giant sombrero for 6 months now. Take it off. For us? Peter: Hey, I can take this hat off whenever I feel like it. I just don't feel like it. [/Family Guy Quote] |

MissInformation (Heidi): [sobbing, with sounds of a straight jacket being tighened in the background] I was just making a few pictures of Dave in funny outfits. I thought it was just all in fun. But now people are dressing like the "Dave photos!" I saw this image and thought it would make a start for a good "Dave image." It looked like a great cartoon - but then I realized it was REAL! I keep telling people it was only a joke! But they keep taking it as serious fashion advice! And now I see cowboy-hat-wearing, cape-covered, hawaiian-shirt-begotten, flashlight-totin' versions of Dave everywhere I look! It was only a joke, I tell you! Yves Saint Laurent has threatened to take out a contract on me! Make them stop! [more sobbing]

M’am, everything will be fine, BECAUSE as you can SEE by my uniform that I AM the NEW 2006 FIRST GP Sheriff. When I see GP, I immediately announce it to the world.
The 10-gallon Sheriff’s hat represents the HUGE commitment and gracious professionalism endorsed by Woodie Flowers. The Superman cape represents Dean’s quest for true, justices, and the American way. The Hawaiian shirt and over sized Khaki pant represents…….. represents….... urh ...... :) |

Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #41
Welcome our model, George. He is modeling the latest fad, a comination of several leading fashions in FIRST. We'll begin the Lavery based shirt, followed by the SPAM influenced cape, combined with the microphone of an announcer, add a 10 gallon hat (actually I'm 99 percent sure that hat couldn't hold 10 gallons but, whatever) just for kicks and whula.

Marvel recently tried to combine a few superheros, looking to Superman, Texas Ranger, and Star Wars for inspiration. The result, as shown here, obviously failed miserably.

The local asylum's short bus was returned to full capacity today as the last escapee from the Flat Tire Incident of 2003 was found announcing at an offseason robotics competition. When asked by reporters why he allowed this obviously altered person to perform such a task, the event organizer said, "This is FIRST - all of our better announcers are visibly insane, and this dude's the best we've ever had!"

Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #41
I just had to make this more interesting.
If you ever want to know how my mind works, or you have nothing else to do at the time, I'll be judging this whole shin-dig at 8:00 AM in the Vex lounge-y area in the pits. The next contest will also be posted. (Of course, this also means I have to somehow obscure my picture folder from the group--can't have y'all looking at my selection ahead of time!) |
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #41
This post was started in the Vex pits. Then I realized that there were way too many posts (I count 37 entries) and way too little time to get to Curie to judge, so I closed my laptop and started moving.
And moving. And moving. And next thing I knew, I was plugged up here at Preston again. First place goes to... Quote:
