Even more off-topic...

While I didn't find that particular movie on the IMDB, for whatever reason I did a search on Woodie Flowers, and he was the host of Scientific American Frontiers on PBS for 3 years, from 1990 to 1993!

The show is still on today with new episodes, but the more amazing thing is PBS has archives of every show. If you look back in the archives back to that 1990-1993 period, you can watch our friend Woodie as the host of the show! I'm watching an episode called "High Rollers" from 2/12/1992, where Woodie went skydiving! (In the PBS archive, search for "roller coaster" and it's the last one that comes up).

Unfortunately, no. I signed a contract saying I could not share it outside of the comfort of my own home "in the universe in perpetuity" (yes, exact words). They can't even tell me when it airs, so you will probably just have to watch for it.

What really made me mad was that I couldn't even mention FIRST by name. I did get to talk about Dean Kamen for a little bit, but it was way too centered on me (I couldn't do anything about it).

That "some kid" is me.

They wouldn't let me talk about anything else :(

I saw it good job

I must say I love the Disney channel. Even if I am 17 :D

I notice on the clip that you look a lot younger than most high schools students on my team.

Thank you.

Actually I'm about to start my senior year. I just look young I guess...

You're not the only one man.....

Does anyone have any footage online? I'd like to see this spot without having to wade through hours and hours of That's So Raven....

Unfortunately, I think that no such footage exists. I have a DVD, but I signed a contract saying that I wouldn't share it "in the universe in its perpetuity" (I'm repeating myself but man, that's funny).

so i'm watching the disney channel with my siblings, and long story short, the first few seconds of this clip prompt me to shout "oh my god, it's FIRST!"

well done, especially considering the content restraints put upon you

It will be airing periodically all summer (but with no regularity).

Unfortunately, I do not think there is a way to get a copy (unless you want to come to my house and watch).

Re: FIRST to be on the Disney Channel: I Need Suggestions

I just saw it in the middle of Kim Possible. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more about FIRST. It focused on Daniel who participates in a national robotics competition (I can't remember the exact phrasing, but it was something to that effect). He's a programmer and does CAD for his team. They showed some pictures of the competition and had a clip of him playing with the robot in what I assume is 294's shop.

But I do understand why they didn't talk about FIRST, so I guess it's alright. The purpose of those segments is to show kids doing great/big/interesting/important things. Talking about FIRST isn't as important to Disney as showing a kid that works with robots in a national competition.
