2005 IRI Housing/Hotel Arrangements

Use this thread for the following:

- if you just want to state where you/your team will be staying
- if you are looking for housing
- if you are looking for a hotel room and don't know where to go
- if you are looking for some people to room with at a hotel
- if you have general housing questions.

On behalf of IndianaFIRST, I can say we'll certainly look forward to having all of you there! It's always a blast! :)

I guess I'll get the ball rolling.

Anybody want to go in on a room at the Omni together? I'm looking at a three night stay; Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night.

if 56 and 25 go together we might be staying at a marriot if we can find one near by. we are still deciding if we are goin to go and if we do we will be an extremly small group.

I got on Expedia.com and found at least 3 hotels for around $65.00 a night within 5 miles of the school and all just off I-69. I can't remember the names but they should be easy to find.
The I-69 exit for the school is Exit 5 if you are coming from the North.

Myself, DJ, Big Mike, and Meli W. stayed at the Extended Stay America, Castleton. It was about $65 a night, maybe $70. pretty nice place, also pretty close to the school.

I'm glad this is being brought up. If you find a hotel that is cheap, but are wondering about traveling time, etc. from the event, contact someone from Team #234 or one of the IRI planners.

The hotels that have been arranged with 'special' rates are fairly close to the event, and there are other hotels not too far. More information should be available Monday.

Closest known campground is the KOA grounds in Greenfield, which is about 15-20 miles west of Indianapolis. I know some people from 1083 stayed their last year, and missed their first match saturday morning because (I think this was the reason) they got caught in a traffic jam coming to Indianapolis

Hhhmmm...

I think I will be making this trip since I missed the Championships - and it'll give me a chance to show off my car....

Just give me a time and place and how much - I'll be there (Late Thurs/fri morning) I'll leave after school thursday from the Michigan area. If you are in the Michigan area (Or on the way) and want to car pool - let me know - I'm more than willing to take my car!! :)

My NEW cell phone number is - (313) 995-8574! I have voice mail so feel free to leave a messge.

Disclamer - Yes, I know I just posted my Phone Number on the internet, blah, blah, blah...

Well I don't think it would matter whether I missed some of the matches or not. I'm not going with a team so yeah. I wish they would go though. Thanks DJ.

When calling the Hilton number for reservations, when I asked for the special IRI rate they knew nothing about it. They couldn't find a listing for it. I tried Indiana Robitics Invotational (which it says to ask for in the white paper), and IRI. Is there any other name it might be listed under?

Re: 2005 IRI Housing/Hotel Arrangements

I'm trying to figure out hotel situations. Thus far it is either going to be myself or myself and Kim Roode. We're looking to stay Thursday night, Friday night, AND Saturday night. I'll let you know when I get more details.

The Extended Stay was nice. So was the Omni (Hilton XD).
And...If I could remember where I stayed with Katie last year...That was nice too.
