Re: 2005 IRI Housing/Hotel Arrangements

I called the 1-800-HILTONS number and asked for the IRI rate for the Omni/Hilton earlier this week. According to them, I got the last room at that rate. Incidentally, they told me the rate only applies to Friday and Saturday nights, not Thursday night, when I know a bunch of out of state teams arrive. Regardless, I still appreciate the $91 rate for Friday night, knowing that I'll be paying $139 for Thursday. You IRI peoplez negotiate a good deal.

I will call them tomorrow and see if I can increase the block size. We went on what last years numbers and it clearly was not enough. I will post what I find out later. Sorry about this. :o

Can this rate be extended to Thursday night as well? It would make sense since the competition starts decently early on Friday morning that we would like to come in Thursday night and saving that much money on a bunch of rooms for my team would be a big deal.

I will see. I had rooms on that night but they must be gone also. We must be really different from last year.

Thats odd...my invoice for 3 nights (Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights) was 91 dollars a night. I booked my room the first day the hotel rates were made public.

I also got a room for three nights (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) and all three nights were at 91 a night. I booked maybe a week and a half ago.

When my room was booked, we got the $91/night deal for Thursday, Friday and Saturday as well.

Hmm....I called them back and amazingly, they said I had the $91 rate for all three nights. This is not what the reservationist reported to me when I first called. They suggested I call the hotel directly and speak with the in-house sales department to confirm all of this:

If they don't automatically give you the $91 rate (at the Hilton), they say to request to speak to their sales management to have it adjusted.

I'm with Aaron. I don't mind sleeping on the floor. Unless someone has room for me....I'll even pay. :D

I desperately want to go, and I'd like to finalize travel plans ASAP.

I called the hotel directly a few days ago and they added a second room to our reservation at the same $91 rate. That being said, they may still be running out. If you haven't called the hotel directly and asked to speak with someone in reservations or inside sales, I'd check out that route and see if they'll give you the cheaper rate.

I managed to get 6 rooms for Thursday and Friday nights at $91/night. It took some effort, but I did it. I'm assuming rooms are running low.

I'm at the Days Inn, across the street and a block west of the Omni/Hilton ..

$55/night ($63/night after "taxes & fees") through Travelocity.
