Re: Team Numbers in Everyday Places

It's kinda hard to find things of my team number (11) but i do notice other teams like every time i look at my watch it seems to be a team number. If i'm driving down the interstate and notice it's a FIRST team I smile.

Being on a FIRST team was the greatest four years of my life. So great in fact that I now volunteer so others can make FIRST the greatest four years of their life.

PS This was my 233rd post...go PINK

There have been many days where the last time I've checked the clock it was either 2:54am or 2:58am. I've also had the misfortune of paying at least $2.58 per gallon of gas (the cheap stuff) VERY often. That's one of the few drawbacks of living in California... we get screwed on gas and utilities.

That reminds me. I always look at the clock everyday at 6:48. Also, our old number, 309, just happens to be our area code! It's too bad we dont have that number anymore. Everytime I do a math problem I try and think of the team that that answer is.

One Saturday during build season, a couple of members from our robotics team went out to Friendlies for lunch. Someone's bill came out to be $14.03. Coincidence, I think not...

Also, the locker adjacent to our Industrial Arts room is locker number 1403.

Actually on our way to the Georgia Dome, my team and I saw a Sewer grate with 1708 on it.... although it turned out to 170B since the next sewer said 170A ... it still brought up the teams moral on the first day of pit opening.... cus we had alotta work to do!

My team number isn't easy to find(1629), but I admit I've jumped the few times I've seen it...

I have seen other teams' numbers and automatically said the name. A month ago or so someone asked me how many days there were in a year, and I said MOE...I've seen several gas station signs saying the price of gas was $2.22(go Tigertrons!)...and in military time, 4:29 is our time...

Where have you seen your team number (or any other ones, for that matter) in places where you wouldn't expect it? Post any good (humorous or entertaining) pictures, please.

HOLY COW! Prices came down to that here also...for SUPER unleaded...regular stayed at about 2.20. I also found myself looking at mile markers on the way to ATL and trying to figure out their team name.

Yeah regular is back up to 2.20 for us now. Gotta love Michigan.

Dang, sorry I guess this has been done. I tried searching but its hard to search "team numbers" or anything similar without getting tons of results to sort. Not to mention, that thread is over a year old. :D

If you get a single thing of french fries at In-N-Out, it comes out to $1.14 with tax. A member of our team noticed this when we stopped for food on the way home from the sacramento regional.

My team was pretty surprised to discover the location of the Midwest Regional was 525 South Racine.. we thought maybe it would help us win or something, but alas, no luck :( ah well, there's always another year :)

heh, I also got .0525 for the answer to a problem in either my chem or math homework yesterday.. that's always exciting :D

For some reason I always notice when the clock says 8:36. no matter if its day or night. I just happen to look at the clock or my watch and it just happens to be 8:36. Strange?. . .

On the drive down to Atlanta I saw a couple signs with prices of $13.05 and we also happened to enter exit (heh) 229. No matter how long I wait though, the time is never 7:72 :(.

In a bizarro moment, I was thinking about the same thing today! And it's rather funny because I gave a small presentation to my department on what we did over the weekend and I was talking about team numbers (they asked what 1089 meant), and another teacher that came with me found it hilarious that I saw 254 on a street mailbox sign and immediately thought Cheesy Poofs.

The most bizarre moment for me, though, was buying something I wanted from target having a price tagl of 10.89

Re: Team Numbers in Everyday Places

I have started seeing team numbers everywhere lately. Mostly in questions in Chemistry and Math Analysis. Since we started getting ready for Atlanta and doing more scouting (learning more team names and numbers in the process) I catch myself trying to associate the time with teams.

Plus my alarm clock is set for 6:16 - it makes me a little happier to wake up early.
