Ninety-three cents for a gallon of gas? That's not gonna happen anytime soon. Although $0.93 for a liter of gas (about $3.52 per gallon) is more realistic (although still cheaper than current gas prices).

Attending the VCU regional had gas at 3.15/gallon and that was just in early March! Wonder what it is now there.

We were sitting next to the Hokies, Team 401 at Einstein, who were our alliance partners at VCU. One of their students showed me their watch at 4:01pm. My watch was slower and showed 3:59pm! hehe......

My team (2079) was driving back home to Massachusetts from the Pittsburgh Regional. We only made one stop for gas. We were driving down the highway and decided to stop for gas, the gas station we pulled into was number 2079.

I've become accustomed to seeing other teams numbers all over the place but I rarely see my teams number, I just thought it was weird that of all the places we stopped it would be the place with my team's number.

Haha Thats funny because I saw the number 141 EVERYWHERE before nationals! My plane flew in at 1:41, three days in a row I looked at the clock and it was 1:41, I was watching House and he said "I will give you this for, the one dollar and forty one cents in your pocket", I look at my car's odometer, and it had 141 miles on it. I saw bus #141 more than I normally, and on the way to the Georgia Dome I saw 4 signs everyday for Exit 141. I thought I was alone on that!

Too many times when I'm doing my homework have I looked up at the clock to see that it's Funky Monkeys(846) pm. It happens so many times that I resort to smacking my head every time that happens.
Also, recently in my math class, Danvillans(1458) kept showing up as the answer for some wierd reason, made me pinch myself to make sure I wasn't going crazy.

Oh, and in a skit, I purposely inserted PALY(8), Raider Robotix(25), and MVRT(115) as the numbers for a math problem in the script.(8x + 25 = 115) Still don't know what I was thinking at that point.

Ought to consider military time as a format.
However if a team's last two digits are above 59, you have a problem.

UNLESS, you use modulo math.

Darn, hexadecimal won't work. . . or should it ?

Think outside the box, errr, numbering system. . . .

Re: Team Numbers in Everyday Places

I flew home from Atlanta, bought a slice of pizza. I nearly flipped out and frightened the cashier when the total came to $2.17.

I have seen $2.17, $2.45, $2.47, $2.53, $2.54, $2.56 and once $3.30(!) as gas prices.

My new college ID number includes 1072 (Harker Robotics).

I take Latin, and our passages have line numbers. I have noted Teams 1, 4, 8, 11, 16, 20, 25, 33, 45, 47, 48, 60, 67, 69, 71, 75, 79, 85, 100, 111, 114, 115, 116, 121, 141, 148, 245, 247, 253, 254, 256, 330, 341, 365, 399, 499, 538, 604, 668 and 692. There are over 2000 lines in the Aeneid, but each book (chapter) restarts its line count.

Every time I look at my (24-hour) clock and it says 0:01, 0:04, 0:08, 0:11, 0:16, 0:20, 0:25, 0:33, 1:00, 1:11, 1:14, 1:15, 1:16, 1:21, 1:41, 2:45, 2:47, 2:53, 2:54, 2:56, 3:30, 3:41, 6:04, 7:01, 7:16, 8:41, 8:42, 8:46, 8:52, 9:10, 10:24, 11:14, 15:01, 15:03, 15:19, 17:17, 17:26 or 19:02, I get a little distracted. I have probably missed a few.

A couple of days later, I checked one of my email folders, and there were exactly 766 (!) emails in it.

On Wednesday, I took the AB Calculus exam. Found 980 in one of the numbers...

Today, I was at our school's badminton meet (I play) and one of the scores was 15:03. Another score was 15:01.

There are currently KRUNCH days until IRI.

Hm. I'm insane, aren't I? :o

There's always 24-hour time! 16:25 would be 4:25pm.

I wish a clock would read 11:89...I'll have to build a clock that uses the 90-minute hour.

I always check my receipts for team numbers. I see 67 quite a bit.

And finally, it always makes my day to see gas prices at 1.189 (though seeing gas prices that low nowadays is a sure sign of the apocalypse!)

Don't know if this counts or was posted already

Me and one of my teammates were in history class and I looked at my phone to check the time and it was 1:34. I gave the teammate my phone and said look at the time! He grabbed the phone, it slipped on his desk and fell on the floor really loudly. The teacher gave us a nasty look and went back to talking. lol.

Also, in chemistry class we were graphing and for the x-axis, our teacher used the numbers 1, 3, and 4. I was like Go Robotics! Everyone just stared at me like I was crazy. Some people just dont get it. *sigh*

In an NCAA basketball game I was watching a couple years back they had a foul committed and free throws shot while the time on the clock was 16:25.. I couldn't help but take a picture of it.

Currently posting on page 33 of this thread.

Page 67 of my bio notebook has the color red for it's color code
Page 217 has a lime green color code.

Today is 6/7.

I feel like such a dork for constantly noticing team numbers...

When I was signing the paperwork for my 2009 Pontiac Vibe--a General Motors product--I noticed that the VIN starts 5Y2SP67099Z....

Now, that could mean that it's a four-door vehicle with front, side, and side curtain airbags...but I think we know what GM was going for when they assigned the digits. ;)

After the off-season competition Mayhem in Merrimack, the team went out to eat. My friend's change came out to be $1.55. She saw this and shouted "Nutty!"
I love robotics.

You should see when my one of my friends and I play Smash. It's just calling out team numbers left and right. Usually, we won't hit someone if they get 177%, but they have to kill themselves after they get 2.

Ok. That last part was a lie.

pretty much all of our school books have page 279 highlighted [only the number] in light blue. I've taken to highligting some other ones as well. most recently i underlined the word cat 7 times on page 451 of a science book, but it never said cat attack or anything along those lines =(

I'm working on a trebuchet and was searching for 5/8 bronze bushings on McMaster, and found them to cost $2.17 a piece.

When dealing with funning a stand for people to vote for thier favorite farmers market, and you notice the first place market has 2207 votes.

When:
-Making your first D&D character (at least in a few years) you are deciding on an age and you bounce the idea off your friend about having a 1189 year old gnome. I ended up deciding that that might be a bit much so I ended up making him 67 years old instead :D (disclaimer: the reference was to the team not their name. Sorry, but I realized afterwords that it might be taken in other ways.)
-When you notice when playing a game that your team had 217 points ^_-

I was sorting through credit card receipts and came across one with a total of $27.53. I know receipts are pretty normal, but this was the first time I had seen my own team number anywhere unordinary, so I was excited!

Also I find myself looking for team numbers driving home from a competition. I'll start seeing them on mailboxes and road signs without even trying. That's what robotics can do to a person!! :D

In Busch Gardens Williamsburg, near the first Immelman on the Griffon, one of the buildings has some writing on it (in French) that ends in 1793.
