No, we are compiling the list of volunteers still and will be notifying everybody of their role very soon.

Just wondering if the list has been compiled yet :)

I'm getting anxious, it's nearly three weeks away.

Is there going to be a webcast available?

Thanks to Dave Scheck and Wildstang, there will be a webcast available (I believe on IndianaFIRST.org).

You can PM oneangrydwarf for more details. We will probably post them Monday or Tuesday, when we know more.

Awesome! Big thanks to everyone making the webcast possible for us folks who won't be there. I hope you have a great event and I can't wait to see it live on my computer!

Just an FYI for everyone who didn't know (From Andy Baker and the ref crew via IRI Update Emails):

3. The referee crew has made two tweaks to the rules for this year's IRI:

3.1. A robot's drive base will be considered "in" the tetra LOADING ZONE if the 28"x38" section of the robot's drive base is positioned OVER the HDPE triangle. Robots will be able to straddle the point and have their drive base over the point of the triangle without touching the triangle to be considered "in" the LOADING ZONE (HP or Auto). Keep in mind that if the robot is not obviously over the triangle while grabbing a tetra, the referee signal a penalty.

3.2. The "Yellow Card / Red Card" system used at the 2004 IRI is BACK! (by popular demand)Referees have the ability to give a yellow card and a red card to any team at any time during the IRI competition. Each team can only be given one yellow card during the entire competition, regardless of the situation. A yellow card is a stern warning, stating that the team came very close to getting a red card (DQ). A red card signifies a disqualification of a team. Red cards may be given without a yellow card warning, if the situation is clearly a DQ. This is simply a clear method of communication for the referees. This system gives teams a second chance during a situation where their actions were borderlining a disqualification, while warning that if any borderline action is repeated, then a DQ will follow.

Quick question...

Has there been any estimated time as to when the talent show will begin? The closest thing I have gotten is after the matches on Friday and I really need to know more about what time it is.

To answer some of the questions -

I was late sending out the volunteer assignments.
If you volunteered and did not hear from me, please PM me,
because I think I assigned everybody and replied to everybody.

The talent show should start about 7 PM.
Matches will go to about 6, then there is dinner, so we are guessing about 7.

Remember, it is Indiana, and we measure time by the change in the height of the grass, so be flexible...... :)

So to answer questions about the webcast, hopefully i will have a page online by the end of the day with all the info about the live coverage. So keep checking indianafirst.org for more info on that.

Sorry for the last minuteness of the webcasting, but i will get the info out to everyone as soon as i have it.

Announcing: IRI Live Coverage 2005!
http://www.indianafirst.org/irilive

In an effort to constantly push IRI to bigger and better things, it is my pleasure to announce IRI Live 2005.

IRI Live 2005 is a culmination of webcast/webcam/interactive shoutbox/image gallery/ and live scores/rankings.

Throughout the competition IRIlive2005 will be updated with new data so that your getting the live coverage of whats going on here in Indiana. But its not just one sided.

Anyone can log on and watch the webcast/webcam and view the results, but then you can share your thoughts and observations in the shoutbox!

Plus if your attend the event you can either join the IRI flickr group (http://www.flickr.com/groups/indianafirst) if you tag your IRI 2005 photos with the tag "iri2005' they will be displayed on the flickr badge on the IRI page.

One of the coolest features of IRIlive2005 is that all the content on the page refreshes itself so you can just leave the page open and everything will stay upto date without you having to do anything!

Thanks to B Money Martus for his help on this project, hope that people find this service useful, and I hope to see everyone who is attending in a couple days!

Josh

Are there any Premier Pits locations still available? - roflol
We came into some extra cash; not really, just forgot about them being there.

There are only 10 pits in the main gym this year. All of those pits went to teams who had something to do with organizing the event or helping the organizers of the event. So, we played favorites with the people who help organize the event by putting their pit in the main gym.
