Re: 2005 IRI Details

* I want to explain the dinner reservation fee incuded above.

We have included dinner as part of the IRI since 2002. Last year we also added a breakfast. We think these are special extras that help make the IRI such a great event and is an opportunity to sit and talk with friends, both old and new.

Our only problem is that we ask teams to tell us "how many for dinner"?
Last year for dinner we had 'reservations' for almost 900, and about 650 actually ate dinner. We wasted a lot of food. For breakfast, we had reservations for about 600 and I think less than 200 showed. We wasted even more food.

We hope that by adding the $1 per person reservation fee, that teams will be a little more accurate and we can buy and cook enough, but not way too much. We will have tickets or wrist bands or something.

We still want everyone to stay and eat, then go to the talent show, but it really bothers us to waste a lot of food because there is not much we can do with it after it is cooked.

Hopefully everyone understands our dilema and is OK with this solution. :)

Gee willikers, Chris, we even fed the IRI teams back in 2000 and 2001 when the IRI was in Kokomo. 2001 was a special year when we "processed" one of the hogs from my parents' farm in Monticello. This guy turned into some sweet-tasting prok bar-b-que. Ah, the memories.

Good idea on the $1 reservation per person, btw.

Re: 2005 IRI Details

Satrday morning 'breakfast' will proabaly be donuts, coffee, juice, etc.
in the parking lot or on the sidewalks. Still working details.

a July morning in Indy could be 60 degrees or 80 degrees, so we will have to be flexible.

May 16th eh? Now that someone outside of the website developement team has put a date on all of this, i guesse we have to double our efforts.

Rest assured. http://indianafirst.org will be back up and running soon. With all the stuff you need to know about IRI, Registration, and some other great new content we are really excited about.

Stay Tuned!

(Our forums are still up and runing, if you guys want to discuss stuff over there as to not crowd these forums up with our silly midwest chatter)

Sorry, but for the IRI 2001 I was just a wide-eyed new kid. I think Scott just asked me to go because I had a van to take a bunch of kids.

****

Payment will be due by July 1 so we can confirm everything.

Registration doesn't begin until May 16, so there isn't a team list yet.

As it is an "Invitational" it is first opened up to all the Indiana teams interested attending, and usualy all of them do, but who knows maybe someone wont show up this year, but regardless you can assume that all teams from the state of Indiana would be there, so there is a preliminary team list. Based just off that, there is going to be some great competition with alot of famous and historicly great teams.

Andy, I can't believe that you tatooed that poor hog. Thats almost as bad as me spray-painting chipmunks yellow and silver to prove that they can return to their homes from 30+ miles away!

About this backpack deal, which is an excellent idea by the way, what exactly are you looking for in it? Its been a while since second grade, so some sort of guidlines would be really great if there is anything specific that you want.
