A lot of people have been asking me for the code, so here it is.

EDIT: Some people aren't able to open the workspace, if this happens it's probably because you have a different version of MPLab. Just make a new workspace and add the files manually.

Hey Mike,

I want to congratulate you on your working Tetra finding/grabbing/capping code. Reading through it, it's logical, easy to follow, and well commented. Nice job.

I'm curious, what did you use for pots on the wrist and arm? How much time did the Shaws and the rest of the Mechies give you to test it out?

Not sure what kind of pots we used, I only do some electrical. I'll ask Ted (our electrical guy) later though.

Most of my user-controlled code could be tested in a short time, so I would test that during the build process. The autonomous took longer to setup, so I had to wait until it was built to test it.

The autonomous code's framework was done before I got to test it, I got about 2 weekend days and a weekday to test/re-write it.

Thanks a lot for posting what actual nice code looks like.
Our code was just all messed together.

We are going to rewrite our code to try and track the vision tetra when school is out and use it for presentations. Will be interesting what cool things happens with the fun new camera.

Cool, be sure to post your results back here. Just remember: This code is specific to our robots design. Be sure to modify it to fit your grabbing mechanism/drive train/etc.

I hope I am not stepping on Mike's toes with this post but:

By using the CMU cam this year to try to accomplish one of the very difficult tasks in the game this year, we have risen the bar and achieved what our team motto proclaims (Taking Robotics Into Bold Experiences) T.R.I.B.E.

With the release of our code to the general FIRST public, we hope to level the playing field since only a few teams were sucessful capping in autonomous using this system.

I hope now that since regionals and the championship event is over, that all the teams who did not try to use the CMU cam this year (wheter due to time constraints, or lack of resources ie: programmers) can learn from Mike's awesome program, and try to take on this challenge to have a sucessful code of their own, if not for a competition, then at least for the experience of learning something new.

I hope see video (or hear) of more teams capping in the off-season competitions than have done in the regular season.

I believe this technology is way cool, and if it seems impossible for teams to use, then I fear it will be dropped in next year's kit.. :ahh: :(

We are using 100ohm pots from RadioShack. They're cheap, simple and reliable.

They would also have quite a bit lower resistance than desired. Are you sure you're not using 100kΩ potentiometers? Those are more typical on a FIRST robot.

Yup, your right. Like I said, I'm not the electrical guy, (last time I touched something electrical, there were sparks and we had to buy a new $200 camera :ahh: ).
