New Family Guy, your thoughts?
First, let me say, please no flaming about how you dont like family guy our you think its stupid. Im mainly looking to see what everyone thought of of the newst episode: #401 North by North Quahog:
Personally, i had alot of reservations about the return. I was extatic when i first heard about it, but after seeing some previews and commmercials about it, i had some reservations, thinking they lost there touch in the 3 years they have been off the air. I was quite surpised how funny it actually turned out to be. Some of my favorite jokes were the Super harsh fox burn at the beginning, and Brian not having a soul. Me and my friends were laughing pretty hard during the entire episode. So what do you guys think? |
Re: New Family Guy, your thoughts?
I enjoyed it. I was worried that it would not be good; the previews did almost no justice to it. I enjoyed the canceled comment at the beginning and the Blues Brothers car chase.
However, American Dad didn't quite live up to my expectations. It had it's moments (Phannie Mae!) but it was not as funny as Family Guy. -Daniel |
Re: New Family Guy, your thoughts?
I liked the new Family guy....especially the list of the cancelled shows at the beginning....what a great burn on fox!

Re: New Family Guy, your thoughts?
I think the new episode was great!! I've been waiting so long to feast my humour on some new Family Guy. Personally I loved when Peter recalled forgetting how to sit down..For some reason that just kept me laughing!
But then there's American Dad...That's reserved for another thread I suppose.. |
Re: New Family Guy, your thoughts?
One of their better episodes, matches up with anything offered in the past seasons.
As for American Dad, I don't think Seth is aiming for the same crowd, sure it's a cartoon with pets (and an alien) but the comedy is more high brow and political ("Oh sweet Sean Hannety!"). |

Family Guy was great! I wasn't expecting it to be so funny...
I was let down by American Dad though. :( |
Re: New Family Guy, your thoughts?
Family guy was amazing! Especially the part where he's checking into the hotel. "Of course Im Mel Gibson! I just put on a few pounds to play Peter Griffin, an english hero who saved England from the English."
:D American Dad was meh. It had some quite funny moments, but not nearly as many. I liked the part at the end, "Im also a hand model. *looks at hand with missing thumb* AHHHHHHH!" Not to mention the scene with the losing of the manhood. Give American Dad some time, the first two werent that great, but the 2nd was a lot better than the first. Family Guy wasnt amazing (but it was quite good) for the first season, but the second was hilarious. Lets see what American Dad has in the rest of its 1st season and its 2nd. |
Re: New Family Guy, your thoughts?
I loved the new Family Guy. What an awesome season opener.
Some of my favorite lines: -"This is almost as intense as the time I forgot how to sit down" *CRASH* -"Look Lois, I'm a booger!" -"Good thing Christians don't believe in gravity" -"Hey Jefferson, check it out... chick getting nailed on my head" -"This kind of thing could turn his life upside-down face" (and Stewie's look directly after, priceless... see Joseph M's avatar) I didn't catch American Dad, I was too busy studying for AP tests. However, I taped it so I can watch it tomorrow or something. |

I thought Family Guy was great. My favorite part was when Peter was driving and was reading the comic and wasn't paying attention to the road and hit a tree and when Lois was yelling at him he statred reading again.

It literally made me drop my Zelda game and watch. Hilarious.

Re: New Family Guy, your thoughts?
I thought it was a great episode. It is a good way for the show to make its return by poking fun at the network that canceled it. American dad was OK, not mind blowing good but I will make some kind of effort to watch it again.
