If the canucks make it past the first round, it will make it easier for Peter Forsberg and the avalanche to beat them down....

Forsberg was really impressive last night

Hasnt played in a year, and he gets 2 assists in his first game back

Avalanche have the defense, the goalie, and now that Peter is back, they have the offensive weapons to take the cup

Greg McCoy 19-04-2002 15:29

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Colorado, but better them then Detroit :D

Dave Hurt 19-04-2002 17:37

Bah, all you people with grudges against Detroit should be drug out in the street and shot. (note sarcasam) The Wings all full of Vetern players, and the rookies they do have are laying the smack down. I got the oppertunity to see the Wings play in person the other week against Chicago. Granted, they lost 3-4 in overtime, but in that game Datsyuk skated around 3 of Chicago's players to take a shot on goal. It was just amazing.

It was just the first game, anything can still happen. The Wings will still pull it off.

Mullen 19-04-2002 18:43

how can you say the wings are gonna lose?!?!? How many of them will be put into the hall of fame when they retire? oh thats right, pretty much all of them. wings are gonna win the Vanc series in 5, regarded they have only won once in quite some time its all changing tonight

Harrison 19-04-2002 22:43

I can say the wings are going to lose because....*drum roll*

THEY JUST LOST 5-2!!!!!!!

GO CANUCKS!!!!!

And for saturday...GO LEAFS GO!!!

Mullen 19-04-2002 23:01

i do stand corrected:eek: ....i wish i saw the game, i didnt see it even though i was in the same room with game on the tv.

lack of sleep always works against you when you actually want to do something, but i must say a 4 hour nap never hurt anyone - as far as im aware of- but im sure somewhere sometime someone took a 4 hour nap and it changed the course of history

but getting back on track, things will change...hopefully...i cant stand another year of the wings being the dominate team during the season and then blowing it in the playoffs

I remember this from an old thread....

Yes the red wings are old :D

Matt Attallah 20-04-2002 13:34

Ok, ok, i have avoided this thread for long enough. I still stand that the wings will win this round. If anyone watched the last period of last nights' game, you saw Detroit's B-B+ game. If they can get it to "click" Vancover won't be a prob. I have been with the wings through hard times, sometimes comming out shorted, but i still love my team, and i still say they will win...

Harrison 20-04-2002 18:51

Detroit will lose...They're too old and slow.

They might get a game in Vancouver, but not more than one.

I say Vancouver in 6.

Also, while I'm at it... GO LEAFS GO!!!...As we just won 2-0 in game two. Leafs lead series 2-0.

Ameya 21-04-2002 11:40

I smell a Devils comeback in the polluted Jersey air...

[actually, the part of NJ I'm from isn't that polluted]

Azn_Dawg16 21-04-2002 12:23

Detroit is overrated. Sure, they've got a bunch of talent and experience, but recently, they haven't had the team chemistry to take on a team that's on a roll like the Canucks.

Colorado has Patty Roy, Peter Forsberg, and Joe Sakic, but the Kings are too deep for them. If Potvin stays on top of his game, Jason Allison, Cliff Ronning, Ziggy Palffy, and the Kings' under-rated defense will take down the Avs in 6.

My pick to win the cup? Sharks over the Flyers in 7.

D.J. Fluck 21-04-2002 19:34

Detroit is over rated, Dominick Hasek has been known to choke during the playoffs, thats the reason he doesnt have a stanley cup in his list of HOF Credentials...

The American citizens on Detroit better save some Social Security for me! :D

Matt Attallah 21-04-2002 22:29

WWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOO!!! Wings lead 1-0 at 10:30 EST!! Yzerman!!! W00T!! Wings all the way!!!:D :p ;) :)

Harrison 21-04-2002 22:52

You gotta give the cunucks a period to get their feet on home ice...They'll come back.

Harrison 21-04-2002 23:50

Ohhhhh, poor Dan Coultie...That lidstrom goal was ugly...So was shanny's...

Game 3 tuesday night in vancouver.
