Isn't 1126 from a combo of these?

Webster Schroeder is 536
Webster Thomas is 737

See?
Though I think Schroeder will be rubbing Thomas' nose in it for at least a year (if their rivalry is still on). ;)

No surprise that we're not on the list, seeing as how we have 1600 people, and only about 100 of them ever take an ap test. Funny, seeing how people move to our town because of the "good" schools. I don't like this system.

How's 3500, and only about 200 take an ap test.

My school's not on the list, to no surprise honestly.

Wilson Magnet was also mentioned over here in an article highlighting schools with innovative solutions.

Quote:

A Bridge to College

In 2002, a star student at Wilson Magnet School in Rochester, N.Y., told science teacher George Wolfe that she was leaving the rigorous IB program because it was just too much work. Wolfe couldn't convince her that the IB diploma would make a difference in college admissions. He needed to find another lure—and he did at the University of Rochester, just across the Genesee River. Because of Wolfe, Rochester now offers free tuition to Wilson's IB diploma grads. Jon Burdick, Rochester's dean of admissions, says Wolfe's idea was appealing because the private research university wanted to keep bright, inner-city students in Rochester. About half of Wilson's 57 IB seniors are expected to get the program's diploma after exams this month and about 10 plan to attend the U of R. Wilson's reputation attracted 600 applications for 150 freshman spots this year. The message is getting out: hard work pays off.

The reason they gave why those schools weren't on the list? They were too selective, the schools that are on the top of the list, guess what! they are mostly selective public schools!

If a school has a magnet program, it is included if they have non magnet students. TJ here in Fairfax is a public school, but is an entirely magnet school that is highly selective. If it was on the list, TJ would be number 4, at 7.142. I looked for the number one school on the list, but was only able to find a Jefferson County school district, but no "Jefferson County" school.

H-B Woodlawn, in Arlington, is only open to students by a lottery system, and AP tests are required. That kind of skews the results for this list, but it is still a really neat school.

TJ is usually listed as one of the best public schools in the country. SAT average of 1482, 97.8% go straight to a four year university, 81% of the teachers have masters or PhDs, robotics labs....the school is awesome. They have a biotech lab where they play with recombinant DNA and do DNA sequencing! Most of the labs are listed here.

At any rate, my sister is at TJ right now, and it is a hard school, but she likes it.

Herndon High School (116) is ranked 174th.
Chantilly(612) is 94th.
Oakton (623) is 103rd, and Hayfield (614) is 222nd. I think all 13 of the Fairfax County High Schools (aside of TJ as Wetzel mentioned) are in the top 300.
Walt Whitman(1389) is 107th.

I to think the formula needs to take in more factors.
