Team 195 Championship Video Wrap Up

Well, here it is.. 195's atlanta video. I wanted to show the people of the competition in this video, rather than the robots. It's the people that makes this fun, and keeps me coming back for more. (Well..That and a serious lack of good game footage :yikes: )

Tell me what you think..

Sweeeet! I like the idea of using a lot of footage of the team rather than the robot. Great job!

Wow...That was absolutely amazing Tom! I really liked the idea of sort of showing off the competition compared to your robot! :D

Tom*Clapping* great job. Very well put together and you got alot of great shots in there, not only the robot in action, but the team acting as a whole.

Very nice video. I've always wanted to do something like this for the other bot events I've been to.

Hey! I resent that!

Sweet video. I made two for my team that I would like to get up on the internet for all to see, but I just had my last day of school and I have a feeling that I won't be having a website to post it on :( if anyone would like to host it for me, lemme know. I definitely like the idea of choosing to show lots of people in a video: FIRST is not about the robots!

Oh yeah, awesome choice of music, but does this mean that FIRST is going to lead to WWIII?

Several video thoughts:

1) There are a very few video-sharing web sites out there; unlike the tons of "photo-sharing" sites. Very few of the video sites will allow you to upload a file more than about 8mb. So, try to keep your short movies very "short" or just teasers, or upload in multiple chapters

2) Our team photo-sharing (rollingthunder.smugmug.com) also allows you to upload videos, but they have to be in MPEG-1 format and very short. Their service to do this is about $30/year. If a team really needs a place to "park" a video and then link to it, I can put a few more videos on our site.

3) There is a company in the U.K. that offers free online video storage, but it's mostly for people who use Pinnacle Studio for their editing (much easier than Adobe etc but still very powerful). Visit www.Romskye.co.uk to find out more.

4) Lastly, I liked the video done by Tom Bottiglieri. The real trick now is to do a "educational" video using the same footage, but adding voice-overs and simpler music. That's the sign of a good producer......
