I'm going if I can get a ride, anyone else going? |
Re: Oasis Concert
Are they the ones with that song "Half the world away" ?
|
Re: Oasis Concert
Sanddrag, yes.. and I think their biggest hit had to be Wonderwall which was released in about 1997 or 8 cause I remember hearing that song when I was a senior in HS..
<omg was it really that long ago?? :ahh: > Oasis' Wonderwall & Green Day's Blvd. of Broken Dreams Mashup can be heard HERE for reference. |
Re: Oasis Concert
Now I'm confused if this is the song I'm thinking of or not. I don't want to break any forum rules or anything but can someone point me to a link where I can download Oasis - Half the world away so I can here it and see if it is what I'm thinking of? Thanks.
EDIT: Nevermind. Actually I was thinking of "Satellite" by Oceanlab in which the lyrics are "half a world away." That is one of my favorite songs. |
Re: Oasis Concert
Also, for reference the song Stop Crying Your Heart Out by Oasis, is the closing song in The Butterfly Effect movie.
Good song.. |
Re: Oasis Concert
has no one really heard of oasis over there?

Re: Oasis Concert
I think another part of the problem is that all of the mentioned songs from them in this thread have been on the "mellow and slow" side of music.
I will admit that during the time Wonderwall came out, that I wasn't listening to Boy Bands by any means, nor mellow music, but other more upbeat dance music. w00t to Open House party on KISS 95.7 Jamiraquoi*, Ace of Base, Prodigy, Fastball, Green Day, TLC, Salt & Pepa, Spice Girls... and the like is what I was listening to back in the day. I loved those NOW (That's What I Call Music) compilations, till they started drowning the CD's with Boy Bands. GAH!! Oh, and can you say Chumbawumba. Another good band from across the pond back in the day.. (Do you even remember what they sang??) :p (And if you know the words, do you remember the name of the song?) Another good song by Oasis is Champagne Supernova, but it too is another "mellow" song. Have they done any upbeat songs you can actually dance to? |

Re: Oasis Concert
Champagne Supernova is a great song, the new song Lyla is really good too. Most of the songs on the new CD are kinda different than the Oasis classics, but Lyla really brings it back.
Favorite Songs - Champagne Supernova - Where did it all go wrong? - Morning Glory - Live Forever |
Re: Oasis Concert
I wish i could...I would love to go see Oasis live...but alas..with having just quit my job and needing to buy a car i do not have to money for a ticket. the need to buy warped tickets for the Best music poll concert in Boston kinda out shines that want unfortunately...oh well

I'm going :)

Re: Oasis Concert
I'll be seeing them with special guest Jet. :)
|
Re: Oasis Concert
I love Oasis, and even when I was young liked it more than boy bands. ;)
Then again, I lived overseas at one point unrelated to music, so maybe that has something to do with it. |

Re: Oasis Concert
yes but cars are quite expensive...though if i got gas money i might be inclined to go, cause those are nice and not expensive tickets. cause best music poll sold out at the pavillion and vanswarped tickets are at est 60 for boston from what i can find. eh the whole not having a vehicle kinda stinks though. maybe i can talk my friends/parents into buying me tickets to go, my birthday is coming up...

=O
O.A.R is playing at the Oakdale! |
Re: Oasis Concert
Heh. Oasis revival? I just started listening to them again a month or two ago after finding their discography (had a bunch of their cd's but they all been lost, broken, permanently loaned). I'll probably go see their concert when they come to Madison Square Garden. Lots of stuff I want to see, too little money to do it all. My friend's at the NIN concert right now :(
