Re: E3

New GameBoy (size of iPod mini), The Legend of Zelda: The Dark Princess (why must they give the biggest kick-butt game a whimpy title?), Revolution will be able to download NES, SNES, and N64 titles to play on the machine (will include emulators), free internet play on Revolution, etc.

I think my roomate and I will get a 360 and a Revolution.

When your PC has 3 processors running at 3.2ghz each then it might be better. Also it's weird that XBOX has Nintendo's Perfect Dark and Playstation's Final Fantasy series now too...

No its XBox 360 PC

If you custom build PCs you'll almost always have a better system. And the Games are all out there too, as well as a massive online community

Build me one for under $500 w/ Windows XP Media Center Edition and specs similar to the XBOX 360 and I'll buy it.

:D

PS2, in my opinion, won the last round because they used their extra year to build a superior game library.

i do agree - sony won because it was a year ahead for two consecutive generations (if you exclude sega)

one thing that i think will make a huge difference for nintendo is this:

The console also will have downloadable access to 20 years of fan-favorite titles originally released for Nintendo 64, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and even the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).

i have all the old systems, and i'm still excited about that.

Nintendo just released some preliminary info on the revolution, including...

There are 2 more absolutely beautiful pics and specs in this this nintendo article
Must not forget to mention the next shrinking experiment to the GBA...

Looks like us SP owners need to think of what to trade for it at a local GameStop. That is, when it ships.
Nintendo has a lot to gain this year, and they shall not lose.

[Edit] The revolution looks like a CD-ROM Drive that I could stick into a computer. I wonder if it will be possible. [/Edit]

Seriously, I wanna marry the Revolution!

That's it, 360 and Revolution for me! I really like the idea of downloading the past 20 years of Nintendo home system games for play!

Multiple processors aren't very useful for PC games. They're better for almost everything else though.

The bottleneck on a PC is the RAM and graphics card. RAM is not a problem if you buy enough. More advanced graphics cards are coming out practically monthly.

I stand by my original statement, consoles will never overtake PC's, which are a much better value due to functionality other than games.

P.S. Xbox360 won't be media center enabled. It will only allow you to hook a media center PC up to it :)

also, you need a TV that supports 720p 1080i resolution to take full advantage of the graphics. Im willing to bet a significant number of potential owners don't, and aren't willing to shell out for a TV and Xbox for their kid's Christmas gift.

Also, the technology in the console is what is available at the time of starting the project, in a pc you can update and improve whenever...
Also the main bottleneck is actually the speed of the hard drive in many cases.....

Re: E3

I read a a while ago that there are no longer going to be booth babes at E3. This will probably improve the show's reputation (in respectability), but it will leave some disappointed. It will elevate the show above the atmosphere found in a car show.
