PC versus Console

Disclaimer : Didn't find a thread on this. Feel free to slap me if there is one

So , which is better?
Pc or Console?

I say PC because they can be upgraded to keep up with stuff and are useful for many more applications, such as writing documents etc. Also, you are thus not limited by the hardware and you can tweak things and make your pc even better.
Also you can't look at this unless you havea PC
(or unless your mad : eg Here or Here ;) )
Debate . and vote

Better for what? Assuming gaming... I'm still going to have to go with PC. :)

Generally, not just for gaming, but you can't really do much except gaming on a console :P

Consoles because every game runs the same on them - developers don't have to worry about different specs. Plus I hate using mouse/keyboard.

gee, i wonder where this spun off of?

PC's all the way, they never go out of date, and consoles are being designed to be like Computers more and more now a days, ever hear of an Xbox Mod chip?

Gameplay is usally better on a counsel and it is eaiser to hook it up to surround sound and big screen. PC has more controller options (joystick, throttle, keyBORED, playstation style, and more) and is far more upgradeable but a desktop computer w/ moniter is a little cumbersome to transport.

consoles are definitely way better for high-end gaming

PCs are better overall because of all you can do with them, and they are also better for low-budget gaming. you won't find open-source games for consoles - updates just dont really work... yet. and URC will be PC-only ;)

What makes you say that? While consoles are just now being able to output to 1080p at a whopping 25fps or whatever that spec is, computers have been able to nearly double that. Lots of games are easily playable on a computer at 1600x1200 or higher. Also, can consoles do either AA or AF? To be honest, the biggest setback to a console, IMO, is the TV. With surround sound on my computer superior to most basic home theaters, a widescreen 23" LCD, top of the line graphics card, and a nice KB/mouse, I'd totally give the high-end gaming award to the PC.

Too bad the XBOX 360 isn't out yet our everyone's opinion might be different.
XBOX 360 - customizable, TV, internet, music, & more! (movie).

I love my PS2 and like to save the PC for online surfing. You should've added handhelds as well. I love my PSP as well.

For the moment, PCs are better. When the XBox 360 comes out, it'll definitely be consoles hands down.

Halo 2.5 Tournies at the regionals, anyone?

Halo 2 on a computer? Didn't think so, therefore Console > Computer.
