workin at Mailbox Business Center this summer. air conditioned and the work is good. shipping stuff, making labels, copying, cashiering, working with customers. sounds cool to me.

i'll of course be doing my usual crazy amount of robotics work. mostly fundraising and training.

Summer job....
well, I do it now, but I'll be doing it in the summer, so I guess it counts.
I technically classify as an A-1. If you know what that is, I congratulate you. If not, here is what I do-
Audio Tech. I sit behind a 60 channel board and turn little knobs for hours. Sometimes It's boring, depending on what type of Band I'm running tech for. Some, however, are simply astounding.

Re: Whats Your Summer Job?

I've been hired by my old high school (I gradutated from there last year) along with some robotics friends to design and install automatic blinds in some of the classrooms, as well as ceiling-mount speaker systems. The idea is to have everything controlled by a microprocessor in each room, and then control each of these (ethernet and IP capable) processors through the school's W/LAN.

So teachers will be able to whip out their wireless tablet PCs, hit a button, and the blinds will come down, the sound system and LCD projector will come on, the screen will drop from the ceiling, and the lights will dim.

It's a great job, considering it's probably something I'd do for free just for the fun of it.

I started a summer job at the engineering section of the navy at the ship yard in philadelphia. It's pretty cool so far.

I'm also working in the dining room at Foulkeways, an assisted living facility.

it's a good variety

I'm working in Purdue's College of Engineering - Strategic Planning and Engineering Advancement office. Roughly translated, it means I'm working for Purdue University and the Boilermaker Regional doing miscellaneous tasks (redrafting proposals, creating timelines and organizing feedback, and ensuring the Boilermaker Regional is just as outstanding and well-planned as it was this year).

Doing FIRST as a job is an interesting experience. I no longer have a main hobby. :) (well, besides training for my KK contest with Dave!)

I got an internship through the Office of Naval Research at the Naval Research Lab on Stennis Space Center. Its pretty cool, easily the best summer job Ive ever had. One of the main goals Im supposed to accomplish is to find a elastomer like compound that has similar density and acoustic properties of water. Cool stuff.

I have a summer internship with a local automation company - Olympic Controls. This is the second summer that I will be working with them

Other than that I'll be working on a number of my own summer projects (hovercrafts, linux clusters, teaching myself programming, and any car projects that arise). I also plan on working with friends on a possible ISEF science fair project, which will most likely have something to do with either linux clusters or van Eck phreaking.

Any free time after all this will be spent either wakeboarding, sleeping, or lounging at the beach.

iiiiiiiiiiiiiii...

work at National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)! ^_^ I'm an intern/apprentice with the NASA Summer High School Apprenticeship Research Program (SHARP) at Kennedy Space Center (KSC). My "job" is pretty cool, its basically the job that gives everyone else out at KSC a job (if that makes sense... i'm keeping it vauge, sorry ^^; )... but it can get tedious at times (i can only take sitting at a computer all day for so long...). However! When i go on Tours and stuff with the rest of my SHARPie buddies, and come home with pictures like this one... it makes it all oh so worth it. (that pic, btw, was taken last Wednesday at Roll-out. Return to Flight (STS-114)'s window is scheduled to open July 13th... oh! and guess who gets to be on site for the launch!? XD eeee -excited-) Also, i found i work down the hall of some of my mentors that i work with during the build season and competition season, so whenever i have time off, i can just take a small detour and visit them! ^_^

I work at Raytheon Space And Airborne Systems out here in LA. It's not really a summer job, as I'll be working here until Aug 06. My title is Techincal Student and traslates to intern. I work in system integration and testing in the GPS Navigation division/department. I also get to share an office with Joe Ross, which is always fun. This is my second summer and I love it here (especially because it gives me a great excuse for moving to LA!).
