Caffeine Addicts Anonymous

Hi, my name is Talon Kratochwill, I'm a caffeine addict. I've been taking Caffeine for many years with soda and coffee and just moved onto the big kahuna, the pills.

Lol, that would be me if I started the CAA.

I recently discovered the greatest thing in the world. CAFFEINE PILLS. I swear, they work wonders, especially for a half insomniac like me. When at a competition, and you need energy I highly reccomend these. My friends are all gonna be on me for this, they think I'm the Caffeine drug lord. But I just wanted to know if anyone else is like me, and loves caffeine, I'm bored and am making a thread, can't sleep.

LOL! I'm not a caffeine addict but I have a friend, who's on the team, who is a total caffeine addict! He lives on coffee! He can't live without it. Anything coffee, he loves practically. I'm sure he'll attend the CCA with you once he admits his problem.

I don't think he has heard about caffeine pills. I'll be sure to mention them to him. He'll probably be like: "What? How come I've never heard of them?" LOL

Sign me up!

My team always makes fun of me for being a caffeine junkie. I'm always busy because I don't really know the concept of slowing down senior year...lets see: 3 APs, 2 honors classes, robotics, volunteering, student gov, church, piano, 4-h, etc...you get the picture. So my team's convinced I'm hooked up to a caffeine IV or I'm a closet speed freak (trust me I'm not!)

I gave up caffeine for lent, that's right no coffee, sodas, or chocolate. I think caffeine pills are too weird so at least I didn't have to go through that withdrawl. It was so hard though, because as luck would have it, most of the 6 week building period was during Lent. It was especially hard when we went to the regionals in Seattle, Starbucks Heaven right before Easter. Needless to say that on Easter, when we were flying back, I ran to the first starbucks I saw in the airport. Yummy frappacinos!

And besides if for some reason I don't have a pop some days I get a horrid caffine (or lack there of) headach...It really sucks.

Time to start drinking water.

Im a total caffeine addict (think 1 case of Bawls <1 hour) but im not to certain about the pills. At least with the soda's and such you are more likely to get sick to your stomach before you od on caffeine. Besides ingesting it is one of the great joys of caffeine! The mere presence of caffeine makes anything taste better to the addict anyway. I despise the taste of decaf coffee but I love normal coffee(black of course). Why would I want to deprive myself of this?

I used to be a caffine addict.
Somehow I broke free. The buzz I used to get from drinking pop or coffee all the time I can get from just a half a glass.

Skitzo, caffeine pills are great! Anything with caffeine is fine. For my birthday, my friend recently bought 12 Frapuchinno's (the little glass-bottled Starbucks coffee drinks you can buy in places like 7-11) and wrapped them up nicely. Needless to say, I was a happy camper :D :D

Just about the pills BE WARNED!! Obey the DOSAGE ON THE CONTAINER. Over the summer, I knew this one kid who got some caffeine pills. We were going to a dance type of thing, and so he thought taking 5 pills at once would give him the extra boost of energy. Needless to say, after he began hallucinating and breathing rapidly in the bathroom, he had to be taken to the hospital where he probably would have died if they hadn't pumped his stomach. All in all - caffeine overdose is NOT fun. So obey the warnings on the box, and just have a good time.

If you like caffeine alot, (and I don't realy this much) the go to http://www.thinkgeek.com/stuff/caffeine/. There are many different kinds of caffeine drinks and pills and accessories. There are also many other thing on that website.

I don't as a general rule take caffeine except when i have a stress headache. However, there is a great little coffee shop across the street from my campus called, what else, Caffeine. (they serve boba, too, the only thing that can be served with coffee that you can't find at Starbucks)

Just like with other drugs, caffine addictions get to a point where the person (ie me...lol) doesn't drink it for the 'high', they drink it to avoid the 'low'.

I think we need a support group here...

I'll supply the "Hi! My Name is..." stickers for it...lol

Melissa Nute 20-04-2002 22:23

Sure lets start the support group...

Harrison 20-04-2002 22:25

lol, alright :)

You go first, as a successful caffine addict survivor ;)

Melissa Nute 20-04-2002 22:35

Um....
I decided I need to try to get away from caffine when I was constantly craving it...
To start getting me off it, I started drinking tea a lot, then went to the caffine-free tea, then eventually water.
I still occasionally get the craving, but usually I can surpress it...

Harrison 20-04-2002 22:41

now my turn...

*Sniff* Excuse me this is hard...lol

I've recently noticed that I have a problem...Mainly cause i never have any money - but the school pop machines have lots...

So I have chocolate milk w/ my lunch now instead of pepsi...I bring bottles of water to class and stuff instead of bottles of pop.

Despite the occasional caffine headach and "boy I could go for a Pepsi right now" feelings its going well...
