Google Personalization

Some people probably noticed that now, instead of a Gmail account you have a Google account. That account lets you access your gmail, your search history, your video uploads, etc. Now you can have your own personalized google page with it! Not sure if I like it, one of the appealing things for Google was it's simplicity.

Here's an example of what mine looks like.

it's the IP address you should be worried about, but still it should work, even if you have an IP pool.

Well, isn't that neat. Now, if I could only add CD to it, I would have EVERYTHING on one source. *A PERFECT WORLD!* Thanks, for sharing!

I agree, that's what I liked about Google...unlike Yahoo which has soooo much stuff on it, it was just Google search and thats it. :(

Well Google has to be doing something right, considering that Microsoft is "scared" of them. Anyone else read that article in that business magazine? (name is escaping me right now.)

And the interface is relatively simple.

Buying a computer... 1000 dollars.
Getting the internet... 30 dollars.
Watching Google Monopolizing the internet... Priceless :D

I'm inclined to agree. I gave it a spin, but it just doesn't feel like Google. I'll stick with Firefox Start for now.

(Why is my homepage Firefox Start and not ChiefDelphi, you may ask? If it was ChiefDelphi, it'd make my current 3.62 posts per day seem like I was slacking!)

I... like it I guess. I won't be logging in at school to view it, but it will be one of my homepages when I'm at home.

P.S. I did submit a suggestion of being able to put any RSS/ATOM feed on there, instead of the few they offer. :)

iCurtis: The Article was in Fortune magazine and it was an interesting read. Accoring to the article google is trying to make Microsoft nothing more than an operating system while they provide the rest. I thought the comment on how all the Microsoft engineers believe that "Google Office" is inevitable was a bit funny.

I think later it will have the option to add your own custom RSS feed. If it does do this, all Brandon has to do is create a feed and you'll be able to add it on your Google page.

I think there already is one but, its very glitchy and you have to host it on your website. so its not really a feed, but its close!:D

EDIT: wait, i found it! http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/extras.php?
its under quick links (on the orage bar) and then extras!

They said that they expect to have this added in about a month or two. Then it will be perfect

Google just added a bunch of new features to their customizable homepage, including the ability to use any feed! I also like the bookmarks option.

And heck, it's got a cool animation for opening and closing the page editing sidebar. :)
