The band 'They might be giants' or TMBG wrote the theme song for Malcom in the middle, and the music intro to The Daily Show.

they have a number of albums going back at least 10 years, with some great music that never gets any air time (indie label)

songs by TMBG that would be great for a FIRST event:

Particle Man
Why Does the Sun Shine
Birdhouse in Your Soul

and of course: Robot Parade

LoL Amanda brought up a good one.. anything by Wesley Willis would be awesome, more specifically Rock and Roll Mcdonalds or Cut the Mullet are classics.

Tracy Morgans Rocket skit song.

Ratatat - Seventeen Years

Aladdin- I can show you the world ( great sing a long classic )

Daft Punk- Technologic

Beastie Boys- Girls

Blind Guardian- Mirror Mirror ( <3 fantasy hardxcore )

Any remix that combines songs like the " Holla Back Girl " base line with like the care bears theme song is always a party favorite

Cartoon Heroes - Aqua
Roam (12" Remix) - The B-52's
Private Idaho - The B-52's
Word Up - Cameo
The Monorail Song - Disneyland, from "A Musical History of Disneyland"
Tomorrow's Child - Epcot Center Entrance Loop, 1982-1999
Dixie - The Voices of Liberty
Let's Dance (Remix) - Pastor Hezekiah Walker
Perfect Day - Hoku
Main Title - James Horner, from "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids"
Queen of Hearts - Juice Newton
Lady Don't Tek No - Latyrx
The Roses of Success - Lionel Jeffries, from "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang"
Wheatfield - Mark Mancina, from "Twister Motion Picture Score"
Sister Christian - Night Ranger
Celestial Soda Pop - Ray Lynch
So Dizzy - Rehab, from "The New Guy"
We're Back - Run DMC, from "Ghostbusters 2"
Zombie Jamboree - Rockapella
He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper - DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince
When I Get You Alone - Thicke

All the plants are on fire - One Ring Zero
is my personal favorite for bizzare music. Even though I'm not going to IRI, is still might be nice to hear it on the webcast (if there is one) :)

They played robot parade at UCF this year. Made me happy.

Haha, I was just listening to that song when I read your post, Andrew.
TMBG is...awesome. I hope we get to hear some.

The Indianapolis Colts and maybe all NFL teams for that matter used to have a video clip that was taken from Cheers that has the cast doing a quasi stomp version of Queens "We Will Rock You". They would play it just before kick off and it would just set the crowd off. Now they have the scene from Braveheart where they flip up their kilts to the English (If I only had a nickle for every time I have done that).

Anyway if you could get that clip it would be an awesome intro. to start things off. I have tried to get this since we started helping with the IRI but have never been able to get it.

I'll try looking around. I tried looking for it a few years ago, but didnt have any luck. May try looking into buying it here (not sure if this site is legal or not), but they have episode 186 - Severe Crane Damage.

EDIT: Doesn't look like you can purchase a single episode.

Here's a good one

Duct Tape Madrigal (don't know the artist)

Lyrics:

Duct tape, duct tape, oh where is my duct tape.
My pavillon is leaking, my old shield is cracked.
My poor heart is broken, I'll fix it with duct tape.
Fix it with duct tape until you come back.

Ribbons and safety pins and bias tape;
I've tried every single color, each variety and every shape.
But only duct tape can bind you to me,
Oh where is my duct tape, Oh where can it be.

Duct tape is better than glue,
It fixes stuff just like new.
Be prepared throughout your life,
Keep a roll beneath your pillow at night.
