Out of that, I really want to see Bon Jovi, Maroon 5, and Rob Thomas, but just to help the cause I'd go.

Live Eight!!! (offical site)

Can't believe i missed this thread, I'm the biggest U2 fan, or at least on this forum and i'm counting down the days (25), i would go to London and see the uber show, but a 45 minute drive to Philly will have to do. I'm sooo going, at least if i can get down there, which looks pretty good right now. I plan on bringing a couple friends down too, so it'll be fun.

They are still talking about the effect of Live Aid 20 years ago, this is our generations version of it, so if you happen to be in the area and willing to go, its gonna be a great show. Also the bands listed aren't the only ones that will be playing, they will have a load of Local Bands there too, Live Aid is where a bunch of musicans got the big boost to their career.

Also, Join the ONE campaign and petition the United States to sign over 1% of the Budget to aid Poverty and AIDS in Africa, its free and a good cause.

I personally think that the London lineup is better than the Philly one, but that's just my opinion...

Re: LIVE 8, YOU COMING

Just a word of warning to those braving the crowds for Live 8 in Philly (certainly not me...although put me on a plane for London and you can bet I would be there rockin' out in a crowd of any size to see that line up):

It is expected that there will be over 1 million people in attendance at Live 8 in Philly and only about 400 - 450 porta-potties within the vicinity (see for yourself).

1,000,000 people / 400 johns = 2,500 people per one lovely smelling temporary human waste container :ahh: .
So it is my advice that, despite the heat and humidity, don't go overboard on the water and soda amidst the chaos of the concert....or else the scattered shrubbery of Philly might seem much more welcoming than a bathroom line of over 200 people.

I want to go so bad but the problem is I don't think I could handle a large crowd of 1 million people, and also I got a party later in the afternoon

But I have been telling my friends and peeps about it for weeks and even months about the show, I AM SO HYPE ABOUT IT

If you are not going, have a couple friends over and have a Live 8 party

Naturally ;)
I am annoyed i'm going to be travelling across france tomorrow lol....
/me wonders if he can buy 3 dvd recorders by tomorrow
The london lineup was the better in the original Live Aid concert too....
The G8 summit is being held up near edinburgh... and there are plans for hundres of thousands of people to march up there. Sir Bob even asked for people with boats to go pick people up from france and bring them over to join in ....
Btw to get tickets here you had to enter a text competition... the amount raised from the texts has coverrered the event in london plus some more...

Watching Pink Floyd get back together was awesome.
Seeing hundreds of thousands of people singing "Hey Jude" with McCartney was probably the coolest thing ever.

For once in my life, I was mad I live in Indiana and not in London (no offense) :) .

I joined the fight.
