wow i don't actually remember the last time i started a thread

This is a pole, to find out which the best lightsaber duel was (Only one per Movie)

In 1977 George Lucas Shocked the world, with his release of A New Hope,
is the innovation, of the Lightsaber, enough to bring Darth Vader vs Ben Kenobi the gold?

In 1980, Mr Lucas continued his future trilogy with The Empire Strikes Back,
is the First battle between, our "Hero" (Luke Skywalker) and "Antihero" Darth Vader, and a Severed hand, enough reason to make ESB and Luke vs Vader 1 , #1

In 1983 we see the final Climatic end to our Series, Return of the Jedi (originally Revenge of the Jedi) and to bring an End to things, we have Luke vs Vader 2, where Vader is saved, the Emperor killed and our Rebels, begin to come to power, Is Luke v Vader 2 Gold?


in recent History, we have The Phantom Menace (1999), George Lucas releases his Prequels and Introduces us, to a Younger Yoda, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, as well as Ben's Master, Qui-gon Jin, and our Villain in this movie, Darth Maul. in this movie, we also see the Introduction of the double bladed lightsaber, and Qui-gon Jin and Obi Wan Kenobi, battle Darth Vader, is a new type of Saber, and 2 on 1 action, enough to make Qui-gon/Obi-wan vs Maul the one that beats all


the second in this new trilogy, Attack of the Clones (2002) gives us one thing that wowed everyone, Yoda with a Lightsaber, (well that and Mace's variation in saber color, and the Purple Blade for one Self proclaimed MBF) is Yoda vs. Doku, your favorite and #1

finally and most recently we see, Revenge of the Sith (2005) and the end to end all ends, the finale duel, Obi-wan vs Darth Vader 2 , is this duel it, is it the one that takes the cake,

in all honesty my money is on Kenobi v Vader 2 the rumble in the cooker... i think it was just amazing

To tell you the truth, I have only seen Episodes 1 & 4 in their entirety, and episode 6 (I think - The one with the Speeder Bikes on Endor - Is that 6?) partially.. so.. yeah. I don't think I can vote on this one yet.

When does the box set come out with all 6 episodes? :yikes:

In my opinion, it was the duels that occured behind the Customer Service Desk and Geek Squad Desk while I was working, with those wonderfully overpriced lightsabers that came out before the movie release.

It was a tough call between two classics, for me. I'd say either of the Luke vs. Vader duels would be the best, with the slight edge going to Empire, on the strength of one classic line: "Luke, I am your father". Special effects and gimmicks just can't beat that.

geez mike this is a tough one...hmmmm... i agree with you though...sweet battle they had...especially the location..oh man...crazy!!!

boy i love star wars!! yoda is still my hero :D

Lol, "a younger Yoda". Like 30 years younger makes a dent in his age...

Anyhow, I chose the only good part in Episode 1: the two-on-one, Kenobi and Jin vs. Maul. Proving that more=better, we had three participants, and four saber-blades. The light-staff is by far the superior weapon, and despite being outnumbered, the Sith managed to take out one of the Jedi (I mean, come on, it'd take Vader two tries just to get the other Jedi in the fight, and Kenobi basically laid down that second time to allow Luke to escape). Plus, it'd set the stage for all future battles. And the chopping of Maul in half (ironic) is still one of the best Star Wars kills ever.

I'd have to say its a tie between Qui Gon/Obi v. Maul (mostly the Obi Wan part of it) and the Yoda v. Dooku battle. I must have laughed my pants off the first time I saw them fight.

On a side note, dont you think that they should have kept Maul's double bladed lightsaber a secret I.E. not put it in the trailers? I think it would have made the movie much more memorable.
