and I wanna go into aerospace engineering :)

I'm Class of 2008, but i'm thinking about Aerospace Engineering with
U of M (in state so it won't be that expensive)
and Purdue (out of state making it costly, but more likely i'll be accepted to).
I'll also apply at some other schools but Aerospace Engineering isn't offered that widely.

I've also thought about Caltech and MIT just for fun becuase I doubt I'll be accepted (i'm smart, but no Einstein). I'd apply at schools like MSU and Michtech if I was gonna go into Civil Engineering, but I'm leaning more towards Aerospace.

Re: Class of '06 - Where Are You Applying

I applied to:
MIT
URI
Northeastern
Tufts

I was rejected at MIT, accepted at URI and Northeastern, and am still waiting to hear from Tufts. URI is offering me full tuition and I'm very interested in their International Engineering Program, but Northeastern is offering me a $16,000/yr scholarship and I also applied for the full tuition FIRST scholarship. I'm very nervous right now, trying to decide where I want to go next year (I'm really not that interested in Tufts anymore).

I got accepted to Towson University...
I didn't end up applying to Villa Julie College, so yeah.
I changed majors, I want to do Deaf Studies and possibly Education. Unsure yet with Education.

So yes, I am very happy. Now onto scholarships up to my eyeballs!

Re: Class of '06 - Where Are You Applying

I just might attend UC Davis so that I can say, "I got a FIRST scholarship to this school!" Berkeley might be out of my reach financially, and I'd only attend WPI if they gave me a full-ride tuition scholarship. At my current standpoint, my parents are pushing me toward UW.

Applied and Accepted to:
University of California - Davis
University of Washington
Worcester Polytechnic Institute
Oregon State University
University of Oregon

...and Still Waiting for:
University of California - Berkeley

Re: Class of '06 - Where Are You Applying

UPDATE:

Rejected by Swarthmore and wait-listed by Johns Hopkins
Now I'm really nervous about getting a letter from UVA (my first choice)
It makes you mad to see all of your hard work on college apps given back to you in a single letter, but I those two weren't high on the list, and I have admission to VA Tech and UDel, both great schools that I am seriously considering.

Keep the updates coming!!

-Chris

edit:
couldn't get into Cornell either!! still waiting for UVA...

I was rejected from Tufts today, but it really doesn't bother me. Now I have to choose between URI and Northeastern - it's a tough decision.

Re: Class of '06 - Where Are You Applying

Summary so far:

MIT - Denied
Yale - Denied
Purdue - Accept
U Mich - Accept
Northwestern - Accept
Cornell - Waitlist
Stanford - ???

I leave you with this...

Dear Admissions Committee:
Having reviewed the many rejection letters I have received in the last few weeks, it is with great regret that I must inform you I am unable to accept your rejection at this time.
This year, after applying to a great many colleges and universities, I received an especially fine crop of rejection letters. Unfortunately, the number of rejections that I can accept is limited.
Each of my rejections was reviewed carefully and on an individual basis. Many factors were taken into account - the size of the institution, student-faculty ratio, location, reputation, costs and social atmosphere.
I am certain that most colleges I applied to are more than qualified to reject me. I am also sure that some mistakes were made in turning away some of these rejections. I can only hope they were few in number.
I am aware of the keen disappointment my decison may bring. Throughout my deliberations, I have kept in mind the time and effort it may have taken for you to reach your decision to reject me.
Keep in mind that at times it was necessary for me to reject even those letters of rejection that would normally have met my traditionally high standards.
I appreciate your having enough interest in me to reject my application. Let me take the opportunity to wish you well in what I am sure will be a successful academic year.
SEE YOU IN THE FALL!
Sincerely,
Paul Devlin
Applicant at Large

Re: Class of '06 - Where Are You Applying

Update: Rejected by UC Berkeley. Woo-hoo! One less decision to make! Seriously, my parents are strung over whether I should attend UW or UC Davis (read: which one they can afford), and I personally will make the decision on the last day of April. XDDD
