Fantasy Football 2005!

Wow... it seems like every year, fantasy football registration comes earlier. Anyhow, football season is coming! Okay, it's over two and a half months out, but for some of us, that's not soon enough. So, for the athletically inept, the statistics geeks, the fanboys/girls, and the people like me who are just too darn lazy to go out and actually play the game, there is the third FIRST Robotics Football League. Koko's X-Cats were unable to defend their 2003 title, but will the 2004 champion Philly Cheesesteaks be able to repeat? I suppose it's too early to tell. Of course, everybody's welcome. This year should be interesting as always. Now if only I can find a team to root for...

Keep flying,
-Eddie

why is the auto draft feature on?

Re: Fantasy Football 2005!

Because not everybody can set aside time for a live draft, making it extremely unfair to them. I make the rule that it must be 100% unanimous for the live draft to happen.

are you gona block people from talking and not allow trades just like ur stupid baseball league?

I definetly want to be able to trade if I am going to do this. Otherwise there is not point at all.

Don't look at me on the trades issue. It's the league that votes. If the people think the trades are unfair, then it's up to them to vote to veto it.

Why are you all complaining about it not being a live draft? You can still pick the order you want to draft players.

Probably because of the situation in which their 1-4 draft picks are chosen, so they don't want to use their 5th for their original pick, so they'd rather use their 7th or something, because of some random statistic...

haha basicly with a fantasy draft you dont know when diffrent position's will start to go and if you miss the run on Qb's or something you will be really hurt for the season

Because you don't know who is left when. Even making out a list of who you want doesn't help much, because depending on what order people pick in, you would change your picks. You don't have the opportunity to pickup any late round steals either.

I've won 3/4 leagues I've lived drafted in. I've made the playoffs in 1/2 leagues that have been auto.

here is something better to complain about those stats are WACK!

Re: Fantasy Football 2005!

Okay, the stats thing I won't argue about. Let it be known that I am in need of input for that. The constant that I am 100% settled on though is 6 points for an individual TD. Also, what I am trying to accomplish is keeping the scores even for each position, so (for example) if you draft a bad QB, while it will put you at a disadvantage, it's still possible to win if your other players perform. In previous years (especially if you had a bad QB), this was unlikely. Like I said, I'd like help on it this time. E-mail, PM, IM me, or even post here if you have any ideas.

Anyhow, there's 6 spots left for anyone interested.

The strategy of making the game easier for those who draft poorly is slightly backwards, in my mind.

Although I'm willing to concede that point since you can't expect a significant parallel between your predraft rankings, and actual picks, with the autodraft.
