From girls asking guys for romantic advice ---> Canada: larger or smaller than USA??

Just for the record, Canada is larger;)

Melissa Nute 03-05-2002 06:27

Ok. then lets get it back on topic...
Guys - what is the do/dont list for girls....

Ben Mitchell 03-05-2002 08:49

I thought you'd never ask:D

I'll get back to it later today, once i formulate my list....;)

Ben Mitchell 03-05-2002 15:41

HERE IT IS:

Ok...Here's the list of does + don'ts. Remembr that all guys, just like gals;) are different, and the these rules may not apply to all of us (just like the holding doors open thing)

Do:
1. Be playful, if he’s playing along (not seriously believing) and its your style
2. Be yourself
3. Ask HIM out *this makes a BIG impression, (along the lines of "I will marry this woman":D )
4. Become friends first, or at least get to know the guy
5. If you like him, offer a phone number of AIM name
6. Talk about subjects you both like, or are interested in
7. Strike up a conversation to get acquainted
8. Humor and forthrightness is good, but if he's shy, tone it down,
9. Did I mention forthrightness: you want to ask him out: SAY SO, sometimes we can't take hints:(
10. Be kind, courteous, and sweet in personality, and you'll do fine

Don’t:
1. Be a tease if he's believing you (rare, but it happens, not to me though;) )
2. Play any cruel jokes on him
3. Force him to dance if he really hates it (I know this from experience: I only dance if I drop something heavy on my foot, or if I’m at the beach and the sand is very hot)
4. Be…unethical (ahem…ill leave it to the imagination), not good for anyone, isn’t a way to meet Mr. Right, or a real friend, only a way to get in trouble
5. Take his phone number, AIM, whatever, and not get back to him (this is for BOTH sides)
6. Lead him on if you already have a boyfriend
7. Talk about how your 100% for the Women’s Independence movement, throwing off the male oppressors: that makes us afraid
8. BE SHY!! We care! (well, I do at least)

Hope this all helps you all out, I've got a question for all you ladies out there, too. Check the massive thread, you can't miss it!
:D

Harrison 03-05-2002 15:51

Of that list, the most important point is the DO BE PLAYFUL.

Playfulness, joking around, all that stuff is great.

If you can't have fun with each other, you're doomed from the start.

Ben Mitchell 03-05-2002 16:00

Yeah harrison, you tell em! Also high up would be the dancing bit, but maybe i'm a exception rather than the rule.

Harrison 03-05-2002 16:05

lol...I can't dance dance...But I am more than happy to slow dance.

BTW, if you're on a beach, and the sand is that hot, walk at the edge of the water :)

Me too, and also, the beach senario assumes that i am trying to get TO the water. of course you walk near the water if its hot sand. or better yet, wear sandles! (a tip I sometimes forget;)

Gah! Stop the tangent! Stop it! Stop it!

How true that is (I know from experience)

I'm a playful person, if you haven't already figured that out....

Force guys to dance? Aw...I usually have fun doing that...ok...I'll guess I'll stop it then....

And now, to ruin the mood of this thread again...

Well, back to the Canada vs. the US debate...

Canada: 3,851,788 square miles
US: 3,537,441 square miles

Yeah, yeah, maybe Canada is a bit bigger, but, er, give us 6 more State of New Yorks, or another Texas and a New York, and we'll beat you guys! :D
