I think it's just a free (and modified a bit) version of Keyhole which has been released since Google bought them out. :D

[edit: Since it prompted me to remove my old version of Keyhole 2 NV, I'll rephrase it and say that it IS a free version of Keyhole]

Yup, free keyhole = yum

I'm thinking about getting the Plus version so I can up my GPS receiver in the car.

I found these images online last year, and the photos are dated 07/25/03. It would be interesting to compare these to Google Earth to see if any changes (construction, etc) have taken place.

Something interesting in noticed when playing around with maps.google.com

when you look at the entire nation from a satellite page, you will notice certain states that stick out. These states have the highest zoom available in all places, not just large cities. Check it out.... http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=40.93...z=11&t=k&hl=en

You can see...Massachusetts, Indiana, and New Jersey. Why do the other states not have this same result?

Re: Google Earth

Is anyone having problems getting on the program?

It would appear as if some sort of firewall is blocking me from accessing their servers, but I don't have any enabled, and checked my router's settings, which seems to be the extent of what Google thinks could be wrong.

I had the free trial of Keyhole awhile ago, and was considering buying it. Sure am glad I didn't, now. At least I will be if I can ever get on :D

[edit] for further reference, I'm on a wireless router, which I think the problem is stemming from, as I can use the program from both of the other computers on the wired network.
