|
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
That's low Dave, locking the entire team in the crate just so you can have all the KKs!
|
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
Due to the lack of fundraising initiative, 116 was forced to travel by way of FedEx instead of United Airlines.
|
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
Hey! What happened to the 2,000 boxes of Krispy Kremes I ordered??
|
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
Building a crate for robot: $500
Building a working robot: $3,000 Locking your students in a crate so that you can get some real work done: Priceless! |
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
At least 1 dozen clowns in a circus VW has nothing on 17 clowning nerds in a crate, particularly if one of them is Heidi and they are all on Dave's team!
|
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
According to the 2006 game manual, the pit crew must be shipped in a crate at the same time as the crate that contains the usual robot and batteries.
|
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
Thats wierd... Why does team 116 have two boxes sitting in their pit area?
|
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
116's crate might work better if they add a back...
|
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
Team 116 demonstrates a new idea on keeping students involved. It might have worked but for one problem. Although the test failed it did spawn team rule #101, use of personal hygene products is encouraged for all team building events.

Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
February 14, 2005 (one week before shipping deadline):
Team 116 Captain “Dave, Dave,…. What, what are we going to do?! It is hopeless…. More than half the team is out sick….. The transmission is not completed, autonomous mode is unfinished and the arm is only half done. We are never going to make the ship date.” Dave: “Hmmm….. I hate to do this but I have no choice. We have to breakout the BACKUP-Team 116. Let's uncrate them now……” (Entry inspired by a scene from the “Match of the Wooden Soldiers" with Laurel & Hardy) |
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52

Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
Man these budget cuts are starting to cut really deep!
|
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
team 116 asks FIRST Q&A:
"Is it really that bad/illegal to ship teammates with the robot to get it finished?" |
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
Dave: Oh yeah... I designed something very cool and it is SOOOO simple.
::Audience waiting:: Dave: Finally I present to you our "the locked up" students. Yup, 17 of them can fit in there at once, very easy to ship it anywhere in the world. I gotta check back on chiefdelphi, there was some team who needed more team members. :: puts a sign on the forehead:: "I donate Nerds" :p |
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
Dave: OKAY! You can't fool me! WHERE'S THE HIDDEN DOOR?!
|
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
After a lack of design ideas (and air), Team 116 decides to think outside of the box.

Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
Dave: "I thought Boxing Day was before kickoff..."
<not an entry> Yet another congrats goes to Billfred, this time for hitting the one-year mark. ::salutes:: </not an entry> |
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
The Herndon High School upper level math class demonstration to support their argument that 34 feet is a unit of volume rather than length didn't work; although the teacher gave them an "A" for effort, they still got an "F" for technical ability and had to repeat the class.

Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
Dave: *thinks* My pit-crew in a box idea is genius, I tell you - pure genius!
Dave (to crew): "Alright guys - remember to pack some food and water in that crate with you, 'cause you're going to have to wait until Thursday morning to be let out." Disgruntled Student: "What?!" Dave: "Hey, the only thing we can uncrate Wednesday is the robot." Student: "Aww, this sucks!" Dave: "Hey, I didn't write the rul- well ... on second thought, I might've had a *little* something to do with it ..." |
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
Dave's New Shirt:
"My Other Team is in the Crate" |
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
116 Student: " Ok so the fact still remains that we cant fit all 20 pit/flight students in the crate"
Dave: "Ok are you happy now where are my the KK's? Pay up!" 116 Student: "What if we send one of us out and have four people close the crate and now all we need to do is get Dave in here and by the time we get to Annapolis I am sure we can win back our bet!" <NOT ENTRY> I wonder why Dave hasn't posted yet? </NOT ENTRY> |
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
Clown College Curriculum:
Clowns In a Car 101: Practical lessons on how to execute the classic “too many clowns in too small a car” gag. Lectures will cover topics such as "What NOT To Eat The Night Before," "The Atkins Diet Has Nothing On Us!," "Pack ‘Em In ‘Till They Scream Like 4-Year-Old Girls," "Stuffing Bozo Into A Tear in the Time-Space Continuum," "Teaching Chuckles To Breathe IN." Lab sessions will feature practice sessions fitting the entire class into successively smaller spaces, starting with large bathrooms, working through packing crates, phone booths, to Cooper Minis. The practical final exam will be an attempt to fit the entire class into a shoe box. |
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
Student: "Wow, when Dave said something about a Human Transporter experiment, I thought he was talking about a Segway, not the 'Beam Me Up, Scotty' kind..."

Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
[Although its obivious I'll put it here anyways... NOT AN ENTRY]
Ashley if you want to change your entry it is 17 people (one of which is Heidi Foster) crammed in a robot crate. [/not entry] When it became apparent that Billfred was going to A. assign Heidi -infinity points, or allow Travis to win the final caption contest just to get on Heidi's nerves, MissInformation decided to do something about it. She gathered 16 other members of 116 and they all climbed into the former robot crate which was then boarded up and shipped to Billfreezyfosheezzywithaglassoflemoneezy Industries. Heidi thought that they would arrive inconspiciously, and Billfred would carry the box into his house, at which point they would sneak out and change the caption contest scores and irreversibly alter Billfred's mind. They're still in the box waiting outside his house becuase they forgot to take into account the fact that Billfred is in Maine. [WOOT! 500 posts!] |

Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #52
Goodness gracious, what is this? Make Billfred Work Day?
In what may be the hardest caption contest to judge yet, first place goes to... Quote:

Name Total Team Wins Seconds H.M. Burn Single Avg. ScoreI should probably tip my hat to a few folks at this point. All awards should be construed as the level of paper plate awards, paper plate not included. Void where prohibited and all that. Year 1 Champion: Heidi Foster Year 1 Runner-Up: Travis Hoffman Most Wins: Travis Hoffman (7) Most Seconds: Gary Dillard (8) Most Burn Awards: Heidi Foster and Travis Hoffman (5 each) Fewest Singles in the Top 10: Gary Dillard (2 out of 45 entries) Funniest Team: NASA Headquarters/SAIC & Herndon High School, better known as 116. (Of the 2,662 points awarded this year, they scored 399, 15% of the total.) Onward....to year two! |
