Alright. There is this site online known as www.audioscrobbler.com . It is a very interesting site. You get a plugin for the application that you use to listen to music. And then it takes the information and makes stats for it. It compiles your favorite and most listened to songs and then it even gives you recommendations that are derived from people with similar interests as you.

A FIRST group has been started. So once you make an AS account, feel free to join the group. [Oh how I love networking! =D]

So, check this out if you are bored and love music. I absolutely love this thing!

It also makes you part of this thing called last.fm which is streaming radio from users that you choose.

I know there is a thread about a group for this. But there wasnt a thread telling what it was. So I thought I would inform everyone.

If you are at work and like to listen to the radio (like me). Listen to your Last.fm station. It is an almost identical site and it will submit the tracks you listen to.

I can't say anything bad about audioscrobbler, its a great program.

Make sure you install the plugins after you join! That way we can see what your listening too!

It was @ 6 listeners last Thursday.
IRI exposed the band more, and made more people listen.. w00t.

I just joined as ejanowak, but I can't get the FIRST group to work for the life of me, its just not there. I also can't get iScrobbler to run, if anyone else on a Mac is having this problem or found a way to fix it, please PM me!

The FIRST group page appears to be down, i don't know if its for maintenance or a error on their end. Hopefully it will be back soon enough...

Given that every year there are long threads as to what music should be played at regionals, perhaps this could help offer atleast a little insight as to what people are actually listening to. Hopefully when that time comes this season, one of us subscribed to the FIRST audioscrobbler will remember to recommend from the lists what we have already deemed our most popular/favorite music.

I also thought of this. Since being part of the 'FIRST' group, it compiles what similar interests the people in the group have. If we could get more people involved in audioscrobbler, then we can know what people like and it could be a big help for those DJ's come competition time. :)

Elgin, you only WISH that that was your car!

And I am happy to say that the FIRST AS group continues to grow. When I first posted there were only 11 members and now we have a wonderful 37!

Keep signing up you guys, you never know, maybe they will take our music taste into consideration for next years competitions! Or maybe even soon to come off seasons.

Um, yeah, those are scary. Granted a prize to the first FIRSTer who makes their car do that. What that prize is I think we have a little while to figure out. Granted if I am wrong please let me know. But to anybody who may have forgotten or just doesnt know Here is what I was actually refering to these signs at the 2004 Palmetto Regional or as was displayed on our 2005 robot. But yeah, glad to see the size growing.

Not sure how many of you have noticed but, Audioscrobbler.com is now last.fm. I think the sites have been partners for a long time.
All your stats are still there and there are a few more features.

They're owned by the same people, it makes sense to have them merged... seeing as they both did the same things (except audioscrobbler didn't have the radio)

i got audioscrobbler...my account is xcheese4salex (as usual hehe :P) i dont think its working right though...last night it showed what songs i was playing fine and then i come back on today and everythings gone! :S maybe i'm just doing something wrong...

I've finally signed up now that I've figured out what this crazy thing is =)

My handle is "mrdoom" but you'll also find that I have an artist page under my real name, thanks to those songs for the FURC game (Ogre's my biggest fan!). The list of my songs will grow since I have many more that I listen to that are unknown to the CD community...check my profile for info about those soon.

Has anyone tried the "free" 50 mp3 offer that comes downloaded with the AS thingy from eMusic?

I am debating as to get rid of it from my programs list, but if it is a valid offer, I will use it.
