350Z
Working on a summer project for fun:
Comments? Critiques? Keep in mind i've got a ways to go before this guy is done (ie doors, windows, lights) |
Re: 350Z
Looks great, I can't wait to see the finished thing with some color.
|
Re: 350Z
thats great! what did you use to create it? i have to reinstal my logitech cam and ill take pics to show where i am. by the way did you also do the logo?
|
Re: 350Z
OK, I'm about to steal daves phrase...kinda.
Thats pimp! |
Re: 350Z
That looks awesome. Howabout some drift tires? ehh?:p
|
Re: 350Z
Really cool. The tires look a little off-roadish, but the entire thing is still sweet. I look forward to seeing the finished product.

Re: 350Z
I was going to the Technokat shop today, and I saw one of these cars in the parking lot...I started laughing. LOL What a coincidence!
|
Re: 350Z
ooh i wish i could use our shop but its in the school and we would need special permission.

Re: 350Z
In response to questions: I modeled in 3DS Max 7 (from FIRST). I also was looking at the wheels and realized they were a bit too offroadish, so new wheels are on the to do list. I wasn't sure about what you meant about the "logo", but I did do those sweet Z badges on the 35th anniversary edition.
![]() These materials are a little crappy, and I spent no time lighting, but it's better than that ugly gray for showing detail. |
Re: 350Z
you did a beutifull job i take my hat off to you. :)
|
Re: 350Z
Wow that is amazing! All I can do in 3DS Max is make simple shapes lol. I was my team had someone who could model like you.
|
Re: 350Z
It's always fun to see new car renders :D
Great work on the 350z so far. Maybe when you're done we can collaborate together and set up a race between my Porsche carrera GT More renders can be seen here I'm not done yet. I recently picked up the work I left off from last summer. --- if you need help on anyhting, PM me and I'll be glad to help |
Re: 350Z
my uncle sells porche and has said that people dont understand its really a race car. he told me people have crashed them while still on the lot.
|
Re: 350Z
That looks really nice. Good job. The 350z is an amazing car. Something seems to be odd looking on the front left fender just above the Z logo but meh it's not complete so I won't say anything else. The material looks really nice, glossy is good :D. Is blue the main body color? :D
Sweet looking render. Can't wait to see it completely colored with lights and a nice backdrop :D |
Re: 350Z
hehe too bad you can render what it feels like to pop the clutch and have it push you back into your seat while you hold onto the wheel like theres no tommmorow! :P
looks great though! |
Re: 350Z
"OK, I'm about to steal daves phrase...kinda.
Thats pimp!" LOl, good to see that slogan has gotten so far. Everyone loves those buttons. Except Dave. Tight car tho. The wheels have a few rough parts, and the discs need a +bit+ of work, but the body is pretty good. I am interested in how you did the logos, they look good. About the textures, gray is the best thing to show off detail because it thows the edges into better contrast. The blue does look better in general, tho. I am impressed, looking foreward to updates. |
Re: 350Z
Kudos so far on what you have. And I do agree, grey is the best for show detail. Sure it may look dull at first, but once you get done, you can always add color to it. You could even just set up a simple scene with a skylight and a plain and stick light tracer on it, and use that to do your paint renderings separate from the greys. That's what I do/did ~~>My Car
(you can crit that too if you guy's would like... I haven't really got a whole lot of input from anyone here at chief delphi for it... it's like I'm just invisible.. but hey, that's what happens I guess) Anyways, kudos again, and I'm looking forward to updates. ;) Keep it up!!! |
Re: 350Z
Well, after a long hiatus, I came back to this model. First, I had so file corruption issues that killed it for a bit. I was able to load an autoback file, and work on it again. After that, some weird stuff happened with the mesh when I was adding doors. I got mad at it, and left the file alone for a good 2 months or so. This weekend, I was feeling bad about giving up on it, so I went back and fixed everything up and added in doors correctly. Something is off about the windshield, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Suggestions?

Re: 350Z
Amazing jorb. Simply awesome. The thing about the windsheild is that the base shows too much of the border. If you trim the gray border around the bottom a little lower, I think it'll add a lot.
|
Re: 350Z
this is by far one of the coolest things i have seen modeled...i can't wait till you get it finished with some color and lighting
|
Re: 350Z
VEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRY good. but 2 things:
The windshield has a bump on the top center and bottom. Top sags in the middle. The bottom pushes up. There is a tiny little artifact near the bottom left corner of the door. it looks like there is a runaway vertex. Just go back to the edit mesh and poke at it till it's all smooth. Similar spot in the mid-right part of the door, but that may be intentional. Body line or smthg. is that gap at the bottom of the door supposed to be there? I have no pic to compare it to right now, but i don't recall there being anything there. BTW, is that all 1 model, or are the doors and stuff separate? keep up the good work. |
