Hackaday Logo vs. Vae Victus Logo

For those of you unfamiliar, Hackaday is a weblog that tries to post a neat hack each day. I read it, and it's often very good. They recently announced a new logo. I like the design of logo's, and I happen to be the one who designed our team's, along with a teammate. Now call me crazy, but does anybody else notice something strange?

They also hint that the whole colorscheme is going to change over! Funny, look at our new design template (designed about a month ago).

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? :D

Maybe we can guilt them into sponsoring us for flagrantly imitating our ©'d logo...

Resemblance? Yes.

Well, the image of a spanner in hand is just a symbol for either power to the people or industrial revolution.

I doubt that it wasn't just coincidental :D

Really? I mean, it makes sense and thats the symbology I was looking for, but do you have any source to back that up? Is that a commonly known fact?
