The million dollar cat!
I saw this on a robot site i frequently go to. One of the makers of Biohazard (a battle bot) owns a cat who was involved in a accident with a truck so he did this! Ive never seen a happier cat!

Re: The million dollar cat!
thats carlo, a well known robot builder.
sorry, but this video is almost 5 years old, i saw this on BB on tv on season 2. so i dont kinow if the kitty is still alive, yet this is a really good way to help our feline friends |
Re: The million dollar cat!
How about this. We make this next years robot! Each robot must be controlled by a kitty. Imagine a cat controlling a robot with a 15 ft long arm! :D It would be pure happiness!

btw, I think the battlebots team, biohazard, is located in my city (belmont, CA -- it's also a relatively small city). I heard about them when I was a kid; sort of another reason why I decided to look further into robotics. |
Re: The million dollar cat!
NO! The cat is actually controlling the robot!
|
Re: The million dollar cat!
Well, I meant the cat controls it, just via remote control -- just so the cat's safe behind the operating station while the robot is free to take a good beating... if the cat chooses..

Re: The million dollar cat!
hmmm i still like the idea oh a kitty tank. Maybe that could be part of the challenge, making it safe, or maybe gear the competition so its safe for them. Imagine the look on their faces (well you already know after watching that movie :D )

Re: The million dollar cat!
It is a neat idea, I'll give him that much. :)
But wouldn't a more cost-effective solution be something like this? ![]() I'd think the "wheelchair" would be easier for the cat to use, too. |
Re: The million dollar cat!
and now we have the definitive answer to the question "what do you get when you have geeks with pets and too much time on their hands?" :)

Re: The million dollar cat!
Now that whole video just doesnt make sense to me... why on earth would a cat spin itself in circles over and over again (unless of course it was chasing its tail... but this one couldnt see its tail) and why on earth is the cat strapped in a cardboard box?!?! Lol... I think im too skeptical for that video.

Re: The million dollar cat!
I would be sooo scared if my cats were robot controllers... I would be so dead if their food dish was empty... *shudders at thought  *

Ohh, my! :'( That video was almost as beautiful as my Ivory on my Segway. I wonder if he ever got a grant for research or development of this idea?

Re: The million dollar cat!
Now that I'm home from vacation, I was finally able to watch that video (dial-up is way too slow and I'm way to impatient). I have to admit, I feel a little guilty for laughing so much at that video... I'm guessing that if you could translate that cat's meow, you would hear "Get me the @$@%* out of this thing!"
