Re: How old were you when you got your first real job?
Well I applied and was hired at Wal-Mart in April when I was 16, but I didn't officially start working there until after my 17th birthday.

Re: How old were you when you got your first real job?
I was 14 when I started working for our neighbors who owned an Ace Hardware, cashiering, stocking, pricing, dealing with the "almost never correct" town-folk, etc. Was there 'til I went to college, and even a few summers/breaks during college.
My 3rd summer in college, I interned for TTX Company in Chicago, where my dad worked. I had a few interesting projects (being a railcar company), analyzing wear/tear on bowl liners (no, not toilet bowls), and wheel wear. Funny how railyard'ers are shocked when they see the only female walking through the railyard. It was fun to watch train cars slam into each other too! Next time you see a train go by, look for the bright yellow auto-racks that say TTX across the bottom. (I never even noticed until I worked there) Then, I graduated college and joined Delphi. |
